When I switch on my computor I get a blue screen saying restart due to previous power failure problems

I am having a similar problem. I understand that I need to update the operating system, but I am worried about how this happened. I just shut it off this am and when I turned it on hours later, I got the blue screen. Was there someone messing with my info/computer? (I have cable hookup) Did I get a virus from somewhere? I have firewall; did it fail?

    Thanks

Trying to connect my new acer media all in one and blue button on but the screen says waiting

Blue screen means the computer wants to start and it can not. The is due to a BOOT SECTOR failure. If you can Reinstall the operating system, trya that first. If not the Hard Drive is bad.

Obviously there is a problem with either with you battery or charging section of your laptop, first you check your battery is charging or not, also check by replacing a new battery,,,,

Automatic restart my laptop.Windows vista

Hi,

If you are able to boot the computer in safe mode, you can disable the Automatic Restart from the Control Panel.

Open Control Panel.

Click on the System and Maintenance link.

If you're viewing the Classic View of Control Panel, you won't see this link.

Click on the System link.

In the task pane on the left, click the Advanced system settings link.

Locate the Start up and Recovery area and click on the Settings button.

In the Start up and Recovery window, locate and uncheck the check box next to Automatically restart.

Click OK in the Start up and Recovery window.

Click OK in the System Properties window.

You can now close the System window.

From now on, when a problem causes a BSOD or another major error that halts the system, the PC will not automatically reboot. Rebooting manually will be necessary.

If you're unable to fully start Windows Vista due to a Blue Screen of Death error, you won't be able to disable the automatic restart on system failure option as described in the steps above.

Try the steps below:

Just before the Windows Vista splash screen shown above appears, or just before your PC automatically restarts, press the F8 key to enter Advanced Boot Options.

You should now see the Advanced Boot Options screen.

Using the arrow keys on your keyboard, highlight Disable automatic restart on system failure and press the Enter key.

After disabling the automatic restart on system failure option, Windows Vista might continue to load. Whether or not it does depends on what kind of Blue Screen of Death or other problem Windows Vista is experiencing.

Since you disabled the automatic restart on system failure, Windows Vista will no longer force a restart when it encounters a Blue Screen of Death.

Now that you have the STOP Code associated with the Blue Screen of Death, you can troubleshoot the problem:

The following is the list of BSOD error codes with troubleshooting, you can find the troubleshooting steps using the error codes in the MS website also..

Hope this helped you. Please do rate me.

Can i change experts

Please select the Safe Mode option. If you no longer have that option whenever you turn your computer on. you can press on F8 after power-on. If you are able to boot in Safe Mode, please try to do a system restore (Start-All Programs-Accessories-System Tools-System Restore). Choose a restore point with a date known to be a time when you never experienced this problem. If you are not able to boot using any of the advanced boot options, you will need to do a full system recovery (reinstall the OS). Hope this helps. Thank you.

Toshiba Satellite M30

You can try to select safe mode and do a system restore (Start-all programs-accessories-system tools-system restore) choosing the date when your laptop was working properly. If you are using Vista, you would see if you had a Windows Update or other such software changes. It is like undoing that but there would be no changes with your personal data. If your laptop works faster after that, please do not have the same software or update again. Hope this helps. Thank you.

Fan Malfunction??

Sounds like a heat issue, pop the side of your case open and turn on the PC, are there fans not moving? Take a close look at your processor fan if there is one.
