Question about Sony Grand WEGA KDF55E2000 55" Projection HDTV

1 Answer

Getting 6 red blinks on the front of my sony kdf-55e2000, after a bit of research I guess I need to replace the thermal fuse. Lots of people seem to be using the same part (thermal fuse 191002393) before I order it, My question is, is this thermal fuse (191002393) compartible with my tv? And if it is not, do you happen to know the correct part number?

Hi,

Solution from Sony - The 10.5V source from the main switching supply generated on the G board is monitored for under-voltage. The circuits monitoring this voltage line are located on the B board. This symptom is usually caused by a failure of the main switching regulator to run, such as a main converter or main relay failure. The most common cause of this event is the thermal fuse opening on the lamp chamber housing which causes a loss of STBY5V to the main relay. The presence of 5 volts on both pins of the thermal fuse should always be checked before replacing the G board.

The PROPER way to replace the thermal fuse is to remove the optical block first. There are at least two recessed screws holding the block in place. BE VERY CAREFUL removing the block as it is very easy to tear/rip wires when doing so. I cannot emphasize enough NOT TO JUST THROW THE NEW THERMAL FUSE INSIDE THE CABINET!!!! The thermal fuse is a safety device mounted near the lamp to prevent overheating. Those that choose to just let the fuse "sit out in the open air" are risking greater failures and the possibility of fire.

The correct Thermal Fuse part number for this Model is - 157695111.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

You still have your guessed problem. 6 blinks means Low B+ error (power supply). This can be caused by an open thermal fuse, loading by another circuit board, or the power supply itself.

I just replace the lamp w/housing and color wheel on Samsung HLN467W--now the lamp light is flashing and the temp light is red, why?

Hello you may also have a bad thermal fuse which is located above or to the side of the lamp housing, IF you are getting 6 blinks and then pause for 3 secs then 6 again, the thermal fuse is open and needs to be replaced.

in this set 3 blinks means lamp cover not set properly but i think that your problem is your 6x red blinks that means you have a problem in the audio section in your set(missing a voltage) or a themal fuse open.

do a google, Sony 4 red blinking lights, there is lots to read. Read it all. We had 6 blinking lights and it was at $20 thermal fuse that we reinstalled ourselves and saved lots. It was past warranty. You can also put a message out on the blogs. But do your homework, it's worth it. Good Luck, Kim

Dead KDf 60xbr950; 6 blinking red lights. I spent hours on research & would like 2nd opinions, please.

Not the board, there is a thermal fuse under the lamp housing that has opened up, you need to order an upgrade thermal fuse link that will mount to the Lightengine side of the lamp housing, the clips are there, there is no sensor there.
