How to install Recovery disc on your laptop/computer

Formally, when you purchase a laptop or desktop computer, an operating system disc comes with it. But these days, such disc does not come with most laptop or desktop computer because it is already installed in them which is called recovery disk. This has a great advantage, because if it was on a disc, it will have a scratch and it cannot last forever because it might get lost or damaged. So, having it already installed on your laptop or desktop computer by your computer's manufacturer is a very good idea.

Most people are not aware that this recovery disc is on their laptop or desktop computer. And some might know, but don't know how to use or install it.

A Recovery disk is used to repair windows operating system when it has a virus or when operating system is malfunction. Reinstalling windows with recovery disks helps to recover your computer from any damage.

First, you need to confirm whether your laptop or desktop computer has a recovery disk on it or not. To confirm, click Start Menu, scroll to "My Computer" and click on it. Beside your system's "Local disk (C:)" you should find "RECOVERY (E:)" Click on the recovery disc and you should find a golden padlock with "RECOVERY" in front of this. Also confirm the and make sure it's is a minimum of 6GB.

Now, to install/run your system's recovery disk, go to;"Start menu" > "All Programs" > "Backup & Recovery" > "Recovery Manager". Read and follow instructions and you will definitely perform the recovery successfully.

Lastly, make sure you perform the recovery white your laptop adapter plugged to AC and do not run the recovery on battery. There must not be interruption of any kind in the process of the installation.

Good luck.

On my hp pavilion dv2910us my screen freezes and has horizontal lines going across screen, i have to bend the screen around until it becomes clear. any idea whats causing this???

hi boorad1284
sorry to hear this but this can be two things: this can be your LCD screen causing the prob or it can be an operating system issue (software). to be sure, back up your files then reinstall your OS (operating system). if this is only a software/driver issue, reinstallation of OS will do the trick but if not, it means that this is already your LCD screen or cable causing it.
goodluck!! hope this helps

Hello.

Either you have an operating system problem or memory issue.

First, boot your system to Safe Mode (press F8 repeatedly when powering on). Go to System Restore and choose a date when your system worked OK. Note: with System Restore, all your updates will roll back to that date. Follow the process.

If still a problem, disconnect all cables. Be certain to dispel static electricity by touching metal. Remove the battery and memory cover. Try reseating (removing and reinserting) your memory (try one module at a time to test).

If still a problem, the last choices are Factory Restore and reinstall. Accessing Factory Restore (restores to the factory settings and will wipe out anything that you have installed or saved on your PC), is dependent on your hardware manufacturer. Boot your system and press F10, F11, Alt+F10, or Ctrl+F11 to access Factory Restore. Follow the prompts.

If still not resolved, you'll probably need to reinstall your operating system.

Hope this helps.

After the boot screen I get a message that says "no bootable devices found"

Try to change your the boot sequence to HDD. If this doesn't change anything you have to reinstall your Operating System. Here is a quick method to reinstall your O.S., but after you reinstall it once:

If your getting that error message that means your operating system is already corrupted. You just need to reinstall a new operating system. You can contact your computer manufacturer to get an operating system or buy one through microsoft.

That white padlock is a system password lock. Did you recently enable a system password? Try restarting your laptop, pressing F1 or F12 to see if it will let you enter the password, then it should let you boot into the operating system.
