Actually the controls are locked--even after unplugging range it returns to:unlocking with beeps after

stop/cancel is pressed but the word"LOC" will not disappear & "door unlocked" keeps flashing.

Everything worked fine until oven lockout was used. Rene

I had tried to start an oven lockout again--but controls are froze on unlocking--"LOC" remains on

display--words "door locked" are flashing & power is continued to locking motor.Door is actually

locking & unlocking all the time(power was disconnected to motor)--but LOC remains displayed

on screen. Tech sheet is missing--whether problem is with touchpad or main electronic control?

    Thanks. Rene

I could not find your model number anywhere.Did you list the serial number by accident?Anyhow, here is a link to a forum where someone asked the same question.
http://applianceguru.com/forum1/611.html
Here is a link which explains the 3 different ways an oven door locks.

Wish I could do more but no model it's tough. If you say this is not a solution that is fine.I know about many things and do my best to find the correct information if I feel I cannot answer it fully. If you want to find more info about oven door lockup that other people have asked about in sites like this for yourself just google Kenmore oven door won't unlock.I just joined this site a month ago. Please check out my tips on gas and keys if you ever wondered about what gas to use and about the keys is good info.I see that I get 1 penny credits,I guess from subscribers,I do not know how it works. The info is good knowledge though and I try to get the word out, especially for single females who are not knowledgable about stuff. Good luck! Greg

Also I saw your post on here all day with no help so since I am very knowledgable about ovens,I was willing to at least take a shot.I think it's terrible when the experts pick and choose. There has to be one that knows this. All this took was some research.

Hello,

Press and hold "Stop/Clear" for three seconds to lock the door.
Observe that "Loc" appears in the display and the "Door Locked" light flashes. Wait about 15 seconds for the door to automatically lock. Once the door is locked, the time of day will be displayed on the control panel.
Press and hold "Stop/Clear" for three seconds to unlock the door. Observe that the "Door Locked" light is no longer flashing. The door is now unlocked.
Take care.

    Hello,

Power off your oven, power on back after some minutes, while the oven is warming up/loading, pull out the plug from the AC outlet. See if this fix the problem, if not, try the first solution again twice, if the the problem still persist, the panel is bad because with this two solution, the oven should be unlock and reset.

Oven door locked

Many Kenmore ovens have a control lock that keeps the oven door locked even when the self-clean cycle has not been in use. This feature is meant to prevent children from opening the door or using the controls on the oven. To cancel the oven lockout, push and hold "Stop" for three seconds. Wait 15 seconds for the oven door to unlock automatically.

Reset
After verifying that the oven lockout feature has been released and waiting at least an hour after a self-clean cycle, if the oven door remains locked, try to reset the oven. Disconnect power to the range, and wait 30 seconds. Restore power and try again. If the door remains locked, disconnect the power and try to reset the circuit breaker or fuse. Contact Kenmore if the door remains locked after both attempts at a power reset at 800-827-6655.

From the manual:

To turn the Cooktop Lockout Feature OFF:
1. Press and hold (_ until "CLO" appears (Figure 3). Continue holding
until a second beep sounds (after 3 seconds). I_1will disappear from
the display indicating the cooktop may be used normally (Figure 4).
Note: Starting a Self-Clean cycle will automatically turn ON the Cooktop
Lockout feature. The cooktop will remain locked until the Self-Clean cycle
has completed and the oven door has unlocked. If a power failure occurs
after the Cooktop Lockout has been activated, you must turn OFF the
Cooktop Lockout feature before being able to use the cooktop features
again.

There is no gas getting to the oven in my frigidare oven

Hello kdccampbell2 - Does "LOC" appear in the display if any button is pushed? The Oven Lockout feature automatically locks the oven door, prevents the warmer drawer and most oven controls from being turned ON. Press and hold CLEAR/OFF for 3 seconds. A beep will sound. LOC will clear. The "DOOR LOCKED" will continue to flash until the oven door has completely unlocked. Do the maintop burners work? Confirm the shut-off valve on the gas pressure regulator is in the "ON" position. This valve shuts off gas to the oven (typically located on the back left-hand side of the range). I do not suggest re-lighting the unit, as this may cause harm to you and possible damage to the appliance. Contact a professional to move forward accurately and to assist with the repairs.

Frigidaire stove oven want come on model # FGF368GSJ

Hello Larry D Harris - Does any part of the range work? I would recommend verifying that a fuse is not blown or a circuit breaker tripped. Test the power outlet with a lamp, hair dryer, etc. Another questions, does "Loc" appear in the display if any button is pushed? The Oven Lockout feature automatically locks the oven door, prevents the warmer drawer and most oven controls from being turned ON. If so, press and hold CLEAR/OFF for 3 seconds. A beep will sound. LOC will clear. The "DOOR LOCKED" will continue to flash until the oven door has completely unlocked. Do the maintop burners work? Granting that it does, you can try confirming that the shut-off valve on the gas pressure regulator is in the "ON" position (usually located on the back left-hand side of the range). This valve shuts off gas to the oven. If after the basic troubleshooting, you continue to experience the issue I would suggest contacting a certified technician to assist in the full diagnosis and repair of your range.

Oven doesn't heat

Hi Sharon Knight - Does any part of the range work? I would recommend verifying that a fuse is not blown or a circuit breaker tripped. Press and hold the "BAKE TIME" button for 6 seconds to exit sales demo mode. If this does not prove to be successful, contact a professional to have EOC diagnosed and/or to confirm that there isn't a wiring failure.

How do you unlock a kenmore elite cooktop?

You can do this by:
Check the oven display to see whether the screen says "LOC." When "LOC" is displayed, the oven lock is activated and the door cannot be opened. You need to make sure it is locked so you do not mistakenly lock the door.

  • 2 Press and hold the "Stop" button on the oven control panel until "LOC" disappears from the display. Some oven models have a button marked "Oven Lock," which should be used instead of the "Stop" button.
  • Lock the oven again by pressing and holding the "Stop" or "Oven Lock" button until "LOC" appears in the display

    Hello kmgtsg,
    Welcome

You said, The door on my frigidaire stove model # FEF389WJCC locked and we are unable to get it open. We weren't self cleaning the oven so I'm not sure what happened. Any suggestions how to fix it? We did try turning the breaker off and that didn't help.

Did you leave the breaker off for 5 minutes or just flicked it off and on?

It may be a faulty door Latch
The door latch consist of a micro switch and solenoid. Once the door is closed and the latch handle.

But first try to deactivate the door lock

    Oven Lockout
To activate the Oven Lockout feature:
    1. Press and hold for 3 seconds
    2. After 3 seconds a beep will sound, LOC will appear & "DOOR
LOCKED" will flash in the display. Once the oven door is locked
the "DOOR LOCKED" indicator will stop flashing.
    To reactivate normal oven operation:
    1. Press and hold for 3 seconds. A beep will sound. LOC will
clear. The "DOOR LOCKED" will continue to flash until the oven
    door has completely unlocked
    2. The oven is again fully operational.

    Lighting the oven

    Control Lockout (on some models)
Your control will allow you to lock out the
touch pads so they cannot be activated when
touched or cleaning the glass panel.
    To lock the controls:
Touch the 9 and 0 touch pads at the
same time for 3 seconds until the
control beeps twice. The display will
show LOC continuously and the time
of day if not blacked out.
NOTE: All cooking and timing functions will be
cancelled when locking out the control.
To unlock the control, touch the
9 and 0 touch pads at the same time
for 3 seconds until the control beeps
twice, and LOC will be removed from
    the display.
NOTE: Some models have a Control Lockout
pad. Touch and hold it for 3 seconds to
    lock/unlock.
    Gas/Control Lockout (on some models)
Your control will allow you to lock out the
surface burners, oven burners and control
panel so they cannot be activated.
    To lock/unlock the controls:
    Turn all surface burners off.
    Touch and hold the Gas/Control
Lockout pad for 3 seconds until the
    display shows LOC ON.
To unlock the control, touch and hold the
Gas/Control Lockout pad for 3 seconds
until the display shows LOC OFF.
When this feature is on and the touch pads
are touched, the control will beep and the
    display will show LOC ON.
The control lockout mode affects all
controls. No controls will work when this
    feature is activated.
The adjustment will be retained in memory
    after a power failure.
