If I do not have any suction, is it the motor . I changed the clutch. My brushes are rolling and checked for blocks . What is my next step?

Hi there are several reasons, motor failing could be one but if it is spinning it will be sucking, look in the short flexible hose for a block, pull out the inspection bend and the double clip unit at the side and check these. Are all you seals in place and not leaking? With the vacuum cleaner in the upright position turn it on is the air being sucked into the hand wand? if it sucks here then blockage is before the diverter which is in the lower part. If the suction is low in the upright positon, did you remove the bin and cyclone and seperate the two? there is likely a build up of dust etc. in the cyclone. There are also pleanty of Youtube video's. If it is all clean and clear borrow a similar unit and swap over the bin/cylone and the various interchangeable parts, finally have you replaced the filters?

Losing sucksion

If you look underneath your DC07 you will see a short length of clear plastic hose with spiral wire reinforcement. Quite often this hose splits (which lets in air and reduces suction at the brush head). Check this hose carefully, as a split is not always immediately obvious. If necessary, remove it by just pulling it away from the end nearest the motor and then unscrewing it from the brush end. A new hose costs very little so it's hardly worth trying to seal a split with tape.
If this is not the problem, post a reply and I'll try again. Good luck!

I sucked up a dusing cloth with my ducted vacuum cleaner and now it does not **** at all. Help can not afford a three hundred dollar bill. blocked

Hi,
Turn off the power on the main vacuum unit. Then thread a plumber's snake or stiff small gauge wire from the outlet you were plugged into when the dust cloth got sucked up. With any luck, you'll be able to push it through a bit or with a small bend at the tip of the wire, you might catch hold of the rag and pull it out. You could also try sucking out the line with a shop vac by fitting it tightly into the outlet and turning on the vacuum.

hope it helps.
please rate this solution.
Thanks for using FixYa.

Please elaborate on the problem in detail.. Your vacuum sucked up a 'dusting cloth" ? Your description of a 'ducted vacuum' implies it is a central vac system ...is that true? If not please explain what you are using? The more details the more likely I can help...

Vaccum has no suction

Here is what we did to fix the problem of our vacuum having no suction.
We unscrewed the three screws on the back and took the hose off of the vacuum.  Then we took the hose outside and put the water hose through the vacuum hose and turned on the water.  After about 30 second the water pushed through a dust bunny the size of a fist and a marker.  Basically, the vacuum did not have suction because the hose was clogged with dust, etc.  After reassembling the vacuum, it worked just fine.

Blows dust and dirt out of brush area

Did you make sure to cut all the strings, hair, etc. out of the brush attachment on the bottom? Look in the corners too to make sure none has gotten stuck on the sides that needs to be cut out.
