Question about Televison & Video
Hi. This model is among few TVs known for having firmware problems. This has published by Sony on a service bulletin distributed to technicians.
Contact Sony and get the firmware update for this model. If that does not fix the problem, then it is either a faulty main controller board or a problem with the LCD panel (in this last case TV would be beyond repair if not still under warranty). PSU must also be tested.
Here the service bulletin:
It has come to our attention that a limited number of BRAVIA® televisions may display a pinkish (pink tinted) picture when connected via HDMI™ to devices such as DVD players or A/V receivers. The pinkish picture may appear under the following circumstances:
We have determined that this only occurs in a limited number of televisions manufactured before November, 2007.
Affected Television Models
Resolution Sony has developed a software update for your television which will resolve this pink screen issue. This software update is installed via a USB Self-Service Software Update that Sony will ship to you at no charge. Please note this software update only addresses the pink screen which occurs with a device connected via HDMI. Screen condition and normal television viewing will not be affected or changed. All terms of your Sony limited warranty continue to apply.
If you have experienced this issue and wish to order the Self-Service Software Update, please verify that your model number is KDL-46XBR5 and then click the "Order Update" button.

There is also a not on your warranty status:
Attention owners of KDL-40XBR5, KDL-46XBR5, and KDL-52XBR5 televisions,
Due to a printing error on the warranty card included with your set, the time period stated may be incorrect. The correct warranty period is 18 months from the date of purchase for parts and labor. (Some warranty cards may incorrectly have stated that the period was limited to one-year.)
If you would like to view or download a copy of the correct warranty card, please use the Manuals/Specs/Warranty link on this web site for your model.
Sony apologizes for any confusion this mistake may have caused. All other terms of your limited warranty continue to apply.
If you have any other questions please contact Sony at 1-800-222-SONY (7669) for more information.
If that does not fix the problem, then the main board must be tested and eventually replaced. Here parts:Sony TV Parts | ShopJimmy

Symptom shows it is problem of T-Con board that is located at top center of lcd panel at rear side. It would be covered with metal shield.
Below exploded view will help you to locate it easily.
Replace t-con board to solve double image problem on right side of tv. Let me know if you have additional question.
