SOURCE: Fn key wont turn off

OK, I've found a soliution! :) I've been diging the internet and many people are having the same problem, so it is a common problem however the soliution is very simple (in my case). The thing is that laptops does not has a saparated Num Pad, and numbers can be found on keys under F1-F12 row or/and (active with Fn key) on alphabetic keys uiopjkl;m/ and so on. But if there is a NumLk key on your keyboard, you can lock the Num Pad on alphabetic keys. Then you have to hold Fn key pressed to write letters.  Find the NumLk key and try to turn off the Num Pad :)
On my laptop (Acer extensa 5120) NumLk key is on F11 and active when Fn is depressed.
Hope this wil help :)

You must hold down the fn key, usually in the lower left corner of the keyboard, while simultaneously hitting the key with the symbol you wish to use.

Can`t figure out keyboard on acer aspire one, blue numbers and letters etc Karl

blue number etc are functions that are connected to the blue fn button in the left hand corner.
press and hold the blue fn button and at the some time one of the other buttons.
eg volume + or - for volume up and down or the moon shape for hibernate, or the sun to change the screen brightness, antenna button to switch on and of your bluetoot or wifi, or the screen button to switch on and off your external monitor port on the back etc. the blue number are your numeric keypad like on a normal keyboard this can be used in the same way by holding the blue fn button down at the same time.

I hope this was helpful

i got bored one day and made a list of these things. on a laptop you have to have number lock on and hold the fn button and then hold alt and there should be blue numbers on some of the letters, use those. if you use a normal full size keyboard its just alt and the number pad on the right. all of these you have to put a 0 and then the number

Acer notebook keeps adding additional letters and flashing 3G and other symbols

It could be a driver problem but most likely the keyboard pads are corrupted.

It sounds like your keyboard has had a wet encounter or some-such and needs to have it's keyboard removed, washed with isopropyl alcohol and distilled water or replaced.
