A7v8x-mx 2GB (2x 1GB) don't recognize

Sounds like you have run into a compatibility problem between your RAM and motherboard. These kinds of problems have been very common and that is why most motherboards have a supported memory list. Usually if the RAM does not work properly you can try reversing the slots that they are plugged into and make sure that your motherboard is set for the proper voltage and speed for the RAM. If it still does not work then you would most likely need either different RAM or a different motherboard.

Hi can anyone tell me what type of RAM is used in the Asus P4SGX-MX Motherboard please. Chris.

Your motherboard has 2 (DDR) and 2 (SDRAM) slots. DDR and SDRAM memory modules cannot be used simultaneously, and the maximum capacity is 2GB of RAM. So you can put in either DDR or SDRAM modules.

Compatible video card

Hi sbagator, the Asus P4SGX-MX board can use (1.5V only), AGP4x graphics card. You can find some here at this link.
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/category/category_slc.asp?CatId=879&name=128-MB-4X-AGP-Video-Cards

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102085

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102734

A 1.5v video card has two seperate copper connectores, not counting the tail lock. If there are three seperate copper connectors not counting the tail lock. It is not a 1.5 volt video card. So check out the picture of a card before you buy.
This next link will take you directly to Asus web site for your board. Manual, drivers ect.

Intel D845GBV Motherboard Problem

PC1600 runs at 200MHZ and PC2100 runs at 266MHZ..

Since your motherboard only supports a max of 266MHZ, I would recommend that. (not to mention that PC1600 is pretty much obsolete)..

2nd, you motherboard supports a MAX of 2GB Total ram.. So, you could install 1GB + 256MB.. But why not go for 2xGB?

The price for a 1GB stick of PC2100 is around $75-125 CAN. Not soo cheap anymore...

L2cache

Unless Asus have an updated BIOS for this motherboard and lists it as compatible then it probably won't work.

The Prescott CPU's (ones with 1MB cache) can use more power so if your motherboard doesn't list it as being supported it will not provide enough power and won't boot or could have problems with crashing even if it does boot.

The older Northwood CPU's used less power btw.
