Hi, it sounds to me like your processor is on its way out your going to need to get the heat sink putty replaced that glues the processor to the cooling fan, it may all ready be to late but getting this putty replaced and all the dust cleaned from inside your computer may solve your problem.

if it dont then it sounds to me like your going to need to get a new processor or even a new computer as it could be either the processor over heating or a part on the main board, if its a part on the main board then you could end up throwing money down the drain to get it fixed, if its just the putty then this can be replaced for next to nothing by any computer repair shop or you could even call some one out.

i would go with the heat sink putty first as this is cheap to get replaced and involves no parts other than a small tub of heat sink putty then get this pc cleaned and the dust vacked out from the cooling vents and then you may find this will solve your problem.

let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

plz rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks

Hello,

Thanks for using fixya.

My name is Carlo.

Your computer might not pass the system requirements that's why it has an error. Or, you can try installing it one more time and check if it will work. Computers do mess up sometimes.

Here's the system requirement of SIMS 3:

Desktop PC (Windows XP + SP2):
CPU: 2ghz Pentium4 Processor or Amd Athlon 2000+ Processor
RAM: 1 GB of RAM
GPU: 128mb Video Card (GeForce FX 5900 or Radeon 9500)

Desktop PC (Windows Vista + SP1):
CPU: 2ghz Pentium4 Processor or Amd Athlon 2400+ Processor
RAM: 1.5 GB of RAM
GPU: 128mb Video Card (GeForce FX 5900 or Radeon 9500)

Laptop (Windows XP + SP2):
CPU: 2ghz Pentium4 Processor or Amd Athlon 2000+ Processor
RAM: 1.5 GB of RAM
GPU: 128mb Video Card (GeForce Go 6200 or Radeon 9600)

Laptop (Windows Vista + SP1):
CPU: 2ghz Pentium4 Processor or Amd Athlon 2400+ Processor

IF your computer does not pass the system requirement, then you cannot play sims3 in your computer.

I hope this helps. Thank you for using fixya

PS3 game stopped playing, screen went blank

hay if you fell it getting hot fast it's the heat transfer compound in the system which is wearing away causing it to over heat and shut down as a safety precaution. so there for it will keep freezing of shouting down.
