D807 screen goes white & delay

Hi. I've had my d807 for over a year and until this week have had no problems with it. Recently, it is very delayed, the screen goes white when i slide it down, and sometimes i can't hear anything on the other line. If i leave the slider up, i can text and use the phone and it charges fine. Any ideas on what is causing this or how to fix it? I can get a new phone by my insurance, but i wanted to keep this model ( it is discontinued).

i have the same problem. ive had mine for two years and the screen recently went completely white. the guy at the store said that if you charge it more than you're supposed to or take it out before it's done charging, over time the screen will just go blank for good. i was able to get a new phone for a discount but the thing is i cant see any of my pictures or texts :(

The screen is completely white. Answering calls works just fine, but I can't see the phone book or use any of the features. I got the phone in November 2006 and this happened in December 2008.

  • Anonymous Jan 28, 2009

Ive had mine for at least a year. It never gave me any trouble until a couple of days ago. The first thing that would happen is the screen went blank when it was in mid position sliding in or out. At first I would turn it off and on, and if i slid back and forth quickly it would be fine. Then it started getting a white screen. If I let the phone go dark then it would come back to normal. Today it went completely white and won't go back to the normal screen. Now it is starting to fade to black. If anyone is getting the first problem, I would suggest saving all your numbers, pictures, music, etc. before its too late.

Same problem here - same 2 year timeframe. Only solution I saw on this site was to replace the cable... can someone explain how to do that?

  • Anonymous May 03, 2009

this seems to be a common problem with this phone. I got this phone used about 5 months ago and until last week it's worked fine. It does all sorts of strange things now including going completely white. the screen image can turn upside down, upside down and inverted so that if i hold it up to a mirror i might could read the screen. It does the last mentioned in combo with a split screen image, and various other multicolored effects, blurring, stripes....every day it learns new annoying tricks. All of the above mentioned special effects are concluded by the famous fade to white. I am able to temporarily almost fix this problem by either turning the phone off and back on again, it that doesn't work i remove the battery for a second and then restart. this can correct the problem for up to 10 minutes or so if you are gentle with it...

May not be a solution to this problem in particular but mine was doing this I got on ebay and found a new flex cable for like 6 dollars and never had the problem again. The flex cables in slider phones break down or come loose easily. Usually when your screen turns white the video signal is bad or weak but power is still being supplied to the light and as the cable breaks more the light gets darker due to increased resitance. Once the cable is completely bad the light no longer works either. Try replacing it.

I have the same problem. I got my first d807 in may of 07, started having this problem, got it replaced in november of 07, and now i'm having the same problem with my 2nd d807. however since the cell phone companies are greedy SOB's they only go by the warranty from the purchase date of the original phone, so even though i havent even had this phone 9 months i cant replace it under warranty.. bastards

i am also experiencing the same problem. i tried removing teh battery and teh sim card for a while but all in vain. from the comments read above...i guess my cell phone worked for long ( almost 5 yrs) ...only temporary solution is to switch off and on in order to make a call or keep it slided up for all the time so that one can at least receive calls and attend the same.

Marshall MG30FX loud tapping sound in time with delay even when no guitar plugged in and effects turned off

Hi J Wade. I'm Dave P. I'm not a guitar amp expert or technician but I've been using amps and effects for 35 years and there are a couple things I can suggest.

That kind of periodic noise/switch noise can be a symptom of having the polarity of the amp reversed. If your amp has a 3-position OFF/ground switch, try reversing the ground. If it doesn't, take the plug and turn it around. Just don't get near a microphone unless you're sure your amp is grounded the same as the P.A. It could fry your lips off.

Dirty switches to that too. You said the noise is in time with the delay's tap time which is set by a foot switch. If tapping that switch the first time generates a pop, the delay may have catch it and is repeating it. Turn off the amp, remove the delay foot switch and turn it back on. Still noisy? If not, give the foot switch a good cleaning.

When you turn the EFFECTS knob up, is it scratchy? Might need the potentiometer cleaned. What happens when you specifically turn the DELAY level down all the way while using the other effects? Noise still there?

That's all I've got. Hopefully, it was helpful. Don't wrack your brain over this too much. There could very well be an internal problem with your amp that will require a trip to the shop. You don't want to open it up yourself. Rock on but be safe.

Dish washer does not turn on CL light stays on when reset count down 6 appears then goes to CL

Hello and welcome to Fixya,

I have a ton of service info on Bosch so it`s best I post you an exert from the service pdf`s I have on my PC which will explain the meaning of "CL" and then go from there. This is not a common indication of a control problem, but it could be a problem with the plastic casing which houses the control, we`ll deal with that later.

I`ve underlined the section pertaining to the "CL", this is for the SHU68** dishwashers only.

TO OPERATE:

First depress the On/Off Button until it locks in place.

Once the On/Off Button is depressed the LED above the previously used cycle will illuminate.

To change the cycle, simply press the desired Cycle Button twice. The LED above that cycle will then illuminate.

The Cycle Countdown will display an approximate run time for the cycle chosen.

This run time will depend on incoming water temperature and the turbidity of the pre-wash water.

Note: It is normal for the Countdown Display to remain at a time increment for more than one minute, or skip a time increment depending on the calculations of the Control Unit. Also, with continued use the Control Unit will learn the wash and temperature patterns for the most commonly used programs and will then reduce the overall start and running times.

At the end of the cycle the display will show a CL, indicating that the cycle is complete.

**TO CANCEL A CYCLE:
Press the Scrub Wash and Delicate / Econo Buttons both in at the same time. The unit will then drain and the figure CL will appear in the display.**

DELAY START:
The Delay Start feature allows the unit to be delayed for up to nine hours. To program, start the unit as described above, but after selecting a cycle push the Delay Start button. The display will show a 1h, or one-hour delay. Continue to depress the Delay Start Button until the desired delay time is reached (up to nine hours, 9h).
The unit will begin automatically once the delay time has elapsed. To reset the delay, press the Delay Start Button until it reaches 0h.

TOP RACK ONLY:
The Top Rack Only feature can be used in conjunction with any cycle. To active, press the Top Rack Only Button after selecting a
cycle, the Top Rack Only LED will illuminate and all water will be diverted to the upper wash arm for the complete cycle.

REFILL RINSE AGENT LED:
The Refill Rinse Agent LED is activated via a Reed Switch on the Detergent Dispenser, Section 4, Fig. 8-3. The LED will
illuminate when the Rinse Agent Dispenser is empty.
Service note: The Refill Rinse Agent LED will also illuminate when the dishwasher door is opened and then
closed even if the Dispenser is full, but will only remain lit for a few seconds.

“F” CODE:
An “F” in the display window indicates a filling fault.

Please note: If the door is opened during the cycle, the On/Off Button will be reset to off and must be depressed again to re-active the cycle. The cycle will resume from where it left off.

Now that you are equipped with this info, what I`d suggest is trying the **cancel option. ( ** see above )

Once you`ve tried the cancel option, select a Regular Wash and post back what happens and I`ll try to assist you from there.

Good luck.

macmarkus :)

Samsung SGH-D807

  1. On your phone, dial *#61# and click Send.
  2. Some information should be displayed: number that the calls are being forwarded to and the delay before the forwarding engages.
  3. Write down the number (including +1)
  4. Dial **61*+1xxxyyyzzzz*11*30# and hit Send. +1xxxyyyzzzz is the number you wrote down previously, 30 is the delay in seconds. The delay can be set in 5 second increments, 30 is maximum
  5. Dial *#61# to verify that the new settings are active.

Magic Sing EG-18000 Microphone Delay

i bought et18k. just the same as yours.its 2 days old and has the same problem. the technical assistant says that its because of the digital setting that new tvs have. there are two ways to solve this though:

1. connect the video (yellow plug) to the tv. and the other two plugs (yellow and white) to the stereo. when i say stereo, its not the dvd home theater system that you have but a separate one. if you connect it to the home theater that you have, it'll just sound the same, you still have the delay.

2. connect the magic sing to the older tvs hangin out. and you'll get no problem at all.

**TVs such as sony, samsung, philips, sharp and all plasma tvs including other newly designed tvs will have the delay since they all share the HDMI thingy that causes sh*t.
