Problem for RCA DRC247N DVD Player

Remote doesn't work/message of "root"

The remote doesn't work...changed batteries...opened it up to see if any buttons were pushed too hard. Also sometimes get a message of "root" on the DVD Player

- the tv says aux so i think it is on the right channel. any other suggestions? thanks.

new item when set up is auto or manual for channel the unit will not lock on to the channel that i have set it too. the system runs ok show' es all the channels but then when finished no signal to tv remote fails to operate
