You can clean the contacts to establish the perfect continuity so that the security is not crossed over.
If you can note the wire points . by colour codes and remove the contacts. Use WD40 to clean well and make sure that it is clicking with no dirt in between. once it is washed free check the continuity for total contact.if not repeat the process , use a low grade emery paper to clean.
Now fix back the contacts on to the door and shut to measure the resistance. If it reads closer to zero you can connect the wires and test.
I dont think you will need to buy a new contact as mot often accumulation of dirt in the contacts can cause this issue.
Hope my tip helps.
Ok, sorry for that , I think it is a proximity switch/ non contact type .
In this case you will need to replace. Will you get the warranty applicable to this part.?
No unfortunately, I bought it from a person with missing warranty papers and billing information.
Next time neverr buy a product without a warranty as the life spans designed by many OEM's are now getting shorter to increase theri sales or the parts are controlled by them.
that's my opinion.

I forgot to say the oven is brand new and hasn't been operating yet. Bosch service site call it a door contact, but it is situated at top left corner just behind the door looking like a termo sensor. Igive you a picture of the component attached.
I have a picture of the component attached. I forgot to say that the oven is brand new. It hasn't been taking into use yet. The component is situated at the top left corner behind the door. Maybe the damaged component is called something else, has just been looking at bosch home site.
I'm glad for the answer, needed the information to determine whether to buy a new component.
Thank you very much,
Jesper
