Remove the card and get it checked in other camera or check out any other working card in your camera. A local camera part store will have all this spare card and spare camera to check the card as well as camera to check the fault and confirm. In most cases the card gets corrupted and it stops working and due to this the "the card cannot be used" message comes up.In some cases formatting the card helps, but in formatting many a times you loose the data stored in the card. Get it checked.Thanks.

First take the card out and see if on the side of it ..the button is not on the locked position ..it has to be on the open side of that sign ...
after that inser *** again with care ..open the camera ..and goto the main menu ..than look for storage ..and in there select the card ..and on its options select format card..For some cameras this option is not in storage area but it is a separate feature in the menu ..so pay attention for something called format ..and when you open choose memory card ..After you format it ..it will work ..

I want to put camera pictures on my computer

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or any other photo cataloging program.
You may download the current versions of all (free) Nikon software here.

I have a Nikon S600 Coolpix. The Mode Button does not work anymore. I push the button and the camera zoom is activated. Can I fix this?

I have the same problem. Nikon told me to remove the battery and digital card for 24 hours, then put ONLY the battery back in and try. It didn't work for me, but it is worth a shot.
