Question about Samsung LE32R41BD 32 in. HD-Ready LCD Television

1 Answer

My TV was moved and has since had this problem. The standby light is permanently on whether the tv is on or not. When on, it periodically (every half hour or so) goes blank for a couple of seconds and all the settings revert to factory settings (ie horrible colour and the wrong picture orientation!) This also happens every time I turn it onto standby, which it will do even though the ligght never goes off. St no point do I lose sound. Is there some way to reboot the TV or do I simply have a loose connection somewhere inside?

Most possible that the memory board has encountered some loose connection in the connectors or inthe IC mounts.Open and check on all connectors, look for possible dry soldering or loose joints inthe microprocessor section or in the mP section regulator supply.
Use a good solderring iron to solder all such suspected points.
test and repeat once again. Since the fault is intermittent, you will have to keep doing the soldering in the suspected sections and then trying to trial.
If the fault seems to wander, it might be an IC possible the memory,or the crystal in the processor.
Hope you check this out.

I have lost the remote control now the tv will not turn on

The remote should not have any effect whether the T.V. turns on or off.
Have you tried to press the power button so that the standby light is on? On most Tv's the light should be red. Once the standby light is on press the button on the TV to change the channel, either the + or - button. This should switch the tv on.

My JCV 1997 TV will not turn on at all I'm missing the power button on the TV it broke and the remote control will not turn it on its been unpluged for month or so . No flaging light just blank. PLEASE...

Push the power button and hold. Check whether lights are ON.

If OK try whether you can keep the switch permanently in pushed
position. Try some paper stuffed tightly.

Otherwise replace the switch.

I currently have my KV-27FS120 Sony TV connected to a cable box, which is receicing 100% signal. However, my television when powered on, the picture will tend to flash at times for a half a second and then...

Check whether the issue occurs with all the external devices like DVD Player, VCR, etc. If the issue is occurring with all the devices then the issue is with the TV.
Try these steps to check whether the issue is resolved.
1.Disconnect the power cable and connect it to a different working wall outlet.
2. Disconnect surge protector if you are using any.
3.Power reset the TV by turning it OFF for atleast one minute.
3. Reset the TV to the Factory defaults.
To reset the TV, turn it ON.
Press the RESET button on the Remote and press the POWER button on the TV at the same time. Now, TV will turn OFF and then back ON automatically.
Now, proceed with the Auto Program.
Check whether the issue is resolved after the Auto Program is finished.

All Sony TVs have a self-diagnose mechanism where the Standby light blinks to indicate that there is an internal malfunction in it.

Note: Your TV does not have the replacable LAMP.

If the issue persists TV requires service. Contact nearest Sony authorized repair center,
