I have a ps3 and i am connected the internet using a wireless connection. my problem is that when i open a website, the page doesn't completely open. like when i open myspace it doesn't load everything on the page. if i open an application (mobsters), it only opens the the background but no game data. this affects not just myspace but any site i go into. it's like the ps3 will not load any plug ins.

PS3 does not support all of the traditional plugins. Adobe Flash player is one example that it does not support. Try this:

I don't have my PS3 right in front of me, but go to your settings menu and open the display submenu. About halfway down you'll see something along the lines of "Enable WMV Playback" if this is set on NO, switch it to YES. If there is no option in this submenu, try Network or Video. It's there somewhere. See if that helps with your issue.

Good luck!

Free unsecured wireless internet in my hotel but my ps3 can't connect. it says it successfully obtains an ip address but then says internet connection failed. what can I do to fix this?

If the Wi-Fi you are connecting to requires you to log in, or accept terms and conditions, or etc. from a web browser, you need to open the web browser on the PS3 and do so. If it doesn't let you get that far, ask the hotel if they can manually add the PS3 to the Wi-Fi access list.

I am trying to connect my wireless internet in my hotel room

With absolutely no details about your Hotel internet connection, here is all i can do to help:
1. Start your PS3, and connect to the WiFi using the automatic settings.
2. If your internet still doesn't work (which i guess is the problem you are trying to describe) then open your internet browser on the PS3. Most likely your Hotel internet connection requires you to log in or "agree to their terms and conditions" on their home page.
3. Once you open the internet browser, wait till their default page opens. If it doesn't, try www.google.com and then maybe their default page may open.
4. Agree to the terms etc, log in if required, and you should be good to go. (follow the instructions on the website. Some hotels leave a 'instruction pamphlet' in your room, on the table describing the log in instructions)
5. Close the browser and see if you can connect to PSN

I have an edimax BR6204wg wireless router. Whenever I have tried connecting wireless divices such as PS3, Nintendo DS and now my HTC smartphone they all find the Wireless network (SSID) but have trouble...

Hi sj_harley,

Welcome to Fixya. You can check the settings of the router so that we can configure your device wirelessly. There are some important information that we need to obtain inside the router that we wil be using to connect your device. The SSID or Network Name, Security: WPA,WEP,WPA2 and Open and lastly the Network Key or Passphrase.

Lets access the router:

- To access the router page just open a browser then type 192.168.2.1, the Default username is admin and the password is 1234.

- Go to the Wireless, Make sure that the Wireless Module Function is Enable.

- ESSID is your Network Name (you can personalize it).

- Go to Advanced Settings, Authenticantion Type: Open (Unsecured) Shared (Secured).

- Go to Security, Select WEP or WPA then type your Password or Network Key

- Click on Apply to save the settings.

Now that we have the information needed lest configure your devices. Listed below is the guide on how to connect PS3 and DS wirelessly.

Ps3 Guide:

Steps on Connecting PS3

1. Power-cycle ALL network equipment. Turn off (unplug) ALL of your network equipment, including any Wireless Access Points, Routers, Voice Over IP (VOIP) Modems, and Broadband Modems for two (2) full minutes.

2. Confirm that your internet connection is enabled. in the home menu, go to Settings > Network Settings > Internet Connection and select Enabled.

3. Scroll down to Internet Connection Settings and When prompted, "Do you want to continue?" select Yes. On the next screen, select Wireless as your connection method. Pick "Scan"

4. From the list, pick your SSID.

5.On the next screen, press right on the directional pad to continue

6. Pick your WLAN Security Setting (either WEP or WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK). If none, pick None (and skip the next step).

7. If you selected a Security Setting, enter your Security Key or Network Key with the keyboard. Press the Start button to exit the onscreen keyboard. Press right on the directional pad to proceed to the next screen.

8. The system will check your network configuration settings and display the information. Save the Settings.

9. Test the connection on the next screen.

10. When the test is complete (usually less than a minute), it will display the results ("Succeeded" or "Failed"). If you have successfully connected to your network, Congratulations, you have completed the network setup process.

DS Guide:

1. Go to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Settings of the Game

2. Search for an Access Point (SSID)

3. Select your Network (SSID), If you have an open network, just click "OK" and it should work just fine! If it's a Red Padlock, it'll prompt you for a Password or Network Key. This is the reson why we access the router.

4. Test the Connection

Thanks for using Fixya.

I want to get the wireless connection to my ps3. How do i do this?

First you will need to check the wireless settings of the router.
What settings do you need to check ?
SSID ( network name )
wireless channel
wireless security type
If secured then network key or password.
To check these settings you will need to open the router set up page. This is the page where you will fin all the settings of the router.
Once you get all the settings of the router, you can try to connect to the wireless network on your PS3.
You will need to go to network settings on PS3. Go to Internet connection settings , wireless connection.
There you will find the option to connect to the network.

I cant log in. PLEASE help me.

I guessing you live close to a neighbor that has an unsecured wireless network. It is possible that they changed their security settings to block out other IP addresses (meaning your PS3). The best solution would be to establish your own internet connection and/or wireless network thru a local broadband internet provider.

Can't connect ps3 internet

Try entering the WAP code or whatever security you have correctly. If it still refuses to work try plugging in your brain by sticking your index finger and middle finger in the socket.
