Why deos it say my email is not valid

You get many emails, especially if you run a business on the web. All of these emails are important because they are from your customers, friends or family. The ones from customers are even more important since they are usually orders for your products or questions about your business. Validate the email address before processing the order to make sure you can reach your customer.

Validate the email address by sending an email to the person who provided the email to you. If it bounces back to you, the email is not valid. Reach your customer through other contact information. Select the email address you want to validate at online validation site such as Broadband-help. Type in the email address or copy and paste it in the box on the page. Enter the validation code found on the page and click "Submit." Check results for the email address you entered in the "Results" box. You'll see a green arrow and the words "Valid email" for any valid email address. See the result for a non valid email as a red "X" in the results box. It will also say the words "Not valid email." Choose to validate a free email address at Ranks to find out if a free email address is valid. Enter the email address in the box and click on "Check." View results on the next page.

I cannot send any email. I get this error message: your action was unsuccessful. Please try again.

It would be good to know just a little more about your setup: what operating system do you use, what mail client or if it's webmail - what browser and what mail service provider do you use, also be more specific about the message itself - is it plain text or does it contain attachments, how many of them, what is the total size of the message, do you sent it to one recipient or several, etc?..

Without all that info I mentioned I could only think of two possible reasons: wrong recipient's email address or message size is too big...

Hello, I have a palm treo pro and I do not receive instant email from my following sites: yahoo, or hotmail. also, how can my phone alert me when receiving email. thank you Phil

Email can be either fetched (via IMAP or POP) or pushed (Exchange). If you want instant notifications, you will have to setup your email account on the phone via an exchange server. As far as I know, Yahoo doesn't do this. For hotmail try the following:
Email Address: Your full email address Username: Your full email address Password: Your email password Server: m.hotmail.com Domain: leave blank

We cannot scan to email from our Sharp AR-M237 Multi-function "Error[973]: Incorrect format for Primary SMTP Server." I am using all the settings for SMTP that I use everywhere else. HELP?-pjm

Model AR-M257 - I have several Sharp MFP devices at different locations and all are set up to scan through our email server using a special account I have just for this purpose. I have all of them setup using the external IP address of our Exchange server (not its name or FQDN) and I have firewall rules setup to allow SMTP from the WAN IP addresses of our different offices to the LAN IP address of the Exchange server. It worked at all the others but this one. I was getting the following error when trying to send a status message (under Log) from the device to my email account as a test: [error 973] incorrect format for primary smtp server. And when I tried to scan through our email server I would get "network error". However, a connection test succeeded. I had everything set correctly for SMTP and DNS but as I was trying anything I could to get it working I went to mDNS under Services and it was enabled. I disabled it and then I could get a status message to be sent to me and we could send a scan through our email server.

Validating in jsp

JavaScript Form Validation JavaScript can be used to validate input data in HTML forms before sending off the content to a server.
Form data that typically are checked by a JavaScript could be:
  • has the user left required fields empty?
  • has the user entered a valid e-mail address?
  • has the user entered a valid date?
  • has the user entered text in a numeric field?
Required Fields The function below checks if a required field has been left empty. If the required field is blank, an alert box alerts a message and the function returns false. If a value is entered, the function returns true (means that data is OK):
function validate_required(field,alerttxt)
{
with (field)
{
if (value==null||value=="")
{
alert(alerttxt);return false;
}
else
{
return true;
}
}
} The entire script, with the HTML form could look something like this:
<html>
<head>
<script type="text/javascript">
function validate_required(field,alerttxt)
{
with (field)
{
if (value==null||value=="")
{alert(alerttxt);return false;}
else {return true}
}
} function validate_form(thisform)
{
with (thisform)
{
if (validate_required(email,"Email must be filled out!")==false)
{email.focus();return false;}
}
}
</script>
</head> <body>
<form action="submitpage.htm"
onsubmit="return validate_form(this)"
method="post">
Email: <input type="text" name="email" size="30">
<input type="submit" value="Submit">
</form>
</body> </html>
E-mail Validation The function below checks if the content has the general syntax of an email.
This means that the input data must contain at least an @ sign and a dot (.). Also, the @ must not be the first character of the email address, and the last dot must at least be one character after the @ sign:
function validate_email(field,alerttxt)
{
with (field)
{
apos=value.indexOf("@");
dotpos=value.lastIndexOf(".");
if (apos<1||dotpos-apos<2)
{alert(alerttxt);return false;}
else {return true;}
}
} The entire script, with the HTML form could look something like this:
<html>
<head>
<script type="text/javascript">
function validate_email(field,alerttxt)
{
with (field)
{
apos=value.indexOf("@");
dotpos=value.lastIndexOf(".");
if (apos<1||dotpos-apos<2)
{alert(alerttxt);return false;}
else {return true;}
}
} function validate_form(thisform)
{
with (thisform)
{
if (validate_email(email,"Not a valid e-mail address!")==false)
{email.focus();return false;}
}
}
</script>
</head> <body>
<form action="submitpage.htm"
onsubmit="return validate_form(this);"
method="post">
Email: <input type="text" name="email" size="30">
<input type="submit" value="Submit">
</form>
</body> </html>
