    Hi!

My previous posts aren't redirecting it to the proper link.

What you can try is to reset the Zen by:

    • Connect the player to a PC with Windows XP installed. Wait for 10 to 15 seconds, and then gently insert a thin object into the reset hole.

    • Make sure the power switch is not in the locked position. The screen automatically shuts off when the the player is locked.

    • If
the player appears to be constantly powering off after a few seconds,
try changing the time after which the screen will turn off.

      1. Power the player on.

      2. Press the Menu / Back button until the main menu is displayed.

      3. Select System from the list.

      4. Select Player Settings from the list.

      5. Select Display Timer from the list.

      6. Scroll
up or down to a new length of time and select it. The screen will now
shut off after this length of time. However, the player will still be
        powered on.
NOTE: The RESET button is located at the left side of the Zen V.

    Hope this helps!

If you already try both reset, then try doing a firmware update.

On computer try unplugging computer power cable, and if it is a laptop also remove battery, this sort out problems related with electrostatic charges on computer USB ports.

Creative zen v plus start up screen freezes when switching on

I had this same exact problem. To solve it I plugged into the computer (if computer doesnt read it its ok ) then pressed the reset button for about 5 seconds. you should see a screen . Then press the play and power buttons on at the same time and you should get a recovery screen. You have three options. from ther you can rebooot and automatically upgrade the firmware after its been downloaded from the creative website. Please let me know if this helped you and write me back if you have more questions. Thank you , lahuntress

I have loaded software on computer - Creative Zen V Plus (8Gb). It will not recognise the Zen. My computer runs XP Professional.

Hi,

Check in the dvice manager to know whether it is detected or not.

Restart the windows & check.

Zen players or any mp3 players have some issues with the media player 11.

Try installing the windows media player 10.

Hope this helps.

Good Luck.
