That symbol means that the backup (date) battery needs to be replaced. This is a button style battery and the replacement number is CR2025. It is located in a holder that slides out of its slot on the bottom of the camera. To keep your current settings, make sure you have the normal battery installed and put the unit in STANDBY mode when changing the backup battery.

It seems your recording head is dirty, i would advise running a cleaning tape through it regularly or have the camera cleaned and checked at a Canon service.

My AF point aperture (the red dot one) looks like a little bit blurry after i try to clean the lens in the camera body. how can this happen?

This might be because you accidentally moved the little wheel to the right of the viewfinder. You can simply look in to the viewfinder and move the wheel until it all seems to be in focus again.

When I look through the view finder window. Everything that I see is out of focus...even the little numbers at the bottom. The pictures come out fine in Auto focus, but in any other mode, I can not tell...

Okay looking at the back of the camera where the viewfinder eye piece is right side upper corner you will see a small wheel partially covered by the rubber rim of the viewfinder by the side of it you will see a small line with a + and - that is a diopter that actually tunes the camera viewfinder to your shooting eye. Pretty fancy eh? Anyway what I do is set the camera in auto focus and focus on an object in a brightly lit room and when the little green light come on in the lower right corner of the viewfinder which is the auto focus confirmation light start turning this wheel one way and another until the image you see come into sharp focus. I don't know about you but I need about three clicks to the + side before everything looks sharp.

I can't see through my viewfinder

It maybe the case your mirror is stuck in the up position. Take the lens off and see if the mirror is lodged in its up position. If it is stuck get it repaired by a Canon technician

Are you able to adjust the camera viewfinder diopter setting. it should be a small wheel or lever near the viewfinder.

Blured viewfinder

Look at the viewfinder on the camera.

Now look on the LEFT side of the viewfinder; just above the swivel-screen.

You will see a little thumb wheel there.

That is the focus for the viewfinder. Move it up and down to bring the viewfinder into focus. (Don't forget to do this while you are looking through the viewfinder so you can see what you are adjusting.)

Easy fix. :)
