No.... they are totally different gases and if you mix them you are really in trouble.... only use the specified gas and NEVER mix gases!!

What is total charge for up right freezer

Hello jharrislaye -If you are referring to approximately what the retail price is for this particular product, unfortunately base on the age of the unit, that information is very difficult to find. However, similar units manufacture nowadays is roughly about $700.00-$1,000.00. If you are speaking about a Freon charge, that would be base on the type of Freon the unit requires and on the actual service technician providing the service. You may locate information regarding the Freon on the serial tag, which is typically located inside the cabinet on the left side wall.

What type of refrig. does the AC use in a 92 dodge caravan

Unless the labels are missing from the car, it will state which type of refrigerant is used. Could be either R12 or R134a. If originally R12, it could have been replaced by R134a with an upgrade kit. The easiest way to tell if the labels are missing, is to look at the valves on the AC system. If they are Schrader valves (same as used on tires), then it is the older R12. If the caps are Red (high pressure side) and blue (low pressure side), then it is R134a. The sale of R12 to non-certified mechanics is illegal in all states as far as I am aware. R134a is available in most states and retro-fit kits are available in most states.

I have done the retro-fit on 2 vehicles with acceptable results. It is recommended to remove all the old R12 with a vacuum pump. Autozone (in my area anyway) rents these.

Good luck if you need and decide to retro-fit yourself.

I have a Mini Split Airconditioning Unit and I found a leak at the flaring where my Suction Line comes the Condenser. How can I fix the flare. Must I isolate freon first somewhere in the system so as to be...

There is seldom a means by which the refrigerant can be isolated in this type of system. Moveover, since the system has had a leak, the refrigerant in the system is no longer usable. It is made of HFC-125, HFC-32 and HFC-134a in specific proportions. When a leak occurs, these components will leak at separate rates and the remaining refrigerant (if any is left) is no longer capable of doing the work of a virgin refrigerant.

Refrigeration flare fittings are 45° and are made with special tools. While there are 'washers' that can be inserted into the fitting when it's exposed, they are not that effective all the time. Remember that the pressure at the condenser part of the system can well exceed 300 psig.

The refrigerant, Genetron 407C, is the replacement for HFC-22. It has no 'replacement' per se.

It's my opinion that this is an issue for a reputable HVAC technician, and not a homeowner. To do the job properly, you would need a new filter/drier, flaring tool and torch if the line is not long enough for it to be re-flared and reconnected, vacuum pump and virgin refrigerant. I would bet that the location of the leak is such that the system is all but flat at this time, and you need a precisely measured amount of refrigerant to re-charge the system.

If you've not yet done so, TURN THE SYSTEM OFF to protect the compressor from damage.

hello there, You need to charge a freon thats why you cant get a better cooling, ask a technician to do the job for charging your freon, because charging a freon is not easy and you still check if the copper tube that connected to the condenser is have leak. thanks

Hello i want to refill my home A/C r407c freon type and i need some guidance. can you help me pls?

Hi, just to let you know and to be honest to you on this problem, if you are not a certified service tech, and certified through the E.P.A with your card, you can't even buy any type of refrigerant other then what they sell for your auto now the R-134a. You are going to have to have this done for you. R-407 comes only in 30lb. jugs from a/c wholesale only places for certified contractors, and we must show our certification card that we have been through school for safe handling of all freon. This law went into affect in 1992, so I am sorry to give you this news. If you know this is the problem for sure, make some calls to a/c repair companies to see what they will charge you to check this out for you. I wish you the best of luck on this, but this has been the law for a lot of years. The R-134a that you can buy is ozone friendly, so you can buy it but no other kind as there are over 100 different types of freon on the market. Best of luck to you on this.

Is R407c compatible with R134a

no absolutely not! Those kits are also more trouble than they are worth if anything at all is not right in the setup. Its worth going and having it done proper, and its not too pricey as long as you phone around enough. My shop in NB charges $10 per pound and a flat rate for labor depending on vehicle. You will burn out the AC in about a month on the wrong refrigerant, they have r34 in r407 as straight up r407 is no longer legal as pure.

No AC refrigerant in 1995 E250

The compressor has a valve, it lets out the old freon and this is where you charge with new freon. The truck should have a label under the hood possibly on top of grille. It will tell you what freon to use. You don't want to the wrong one. There are 2 types of freon. There is the older R22 that is for 94 and older vehicles, and R134A which is for the newer vehicles. You will have to look on your label, or as part store which kind. I believe it will be R134A
