Either the flash unit or Main system board is defective. It is usually the main system board for this model though there is no guarantee which part is defective. I suggest you try getting the main system board fixed first since that is by far the most likely problem. I suggest searching a place like eBay for your repair part. You can usually get a part there for cheap and sometimes they will install it for you even.

How do you turn o and off flash

Your camera has 4 modes flash function : 1; Flash Off ( flash will Off in any shoot) 2. Flash Fill in ( flash always On) 3. Auto Flash (Camera decided flash) 4. Red Eye reduction flash ( Camera decide flash).
You can set your flash base on your need.

We just bought d90 nikon camera and we found a small half-round shadow at the bottom of the pictures taken when we dont use the zoom lens, how do we correct this?

Are these pictures taken using the built-in flash and with the hood on the lens? If so, you're seeing the shadow of the lens hood.

Remove the lens hood when using the built-in flash.

When I try to take the pic the #5" comes on and flashes at the upper left hand corner. I tried turning the camera off and it still is flasing. I turned the camera off then opened the door to the CF card...

If you hear a click and then get Error #5 then either the flash is not popping up as it should or the two little switches under the flash are stuck. Gently help the flash up, then turn the camera off and on again to clear the error message. I found the hinge on my flash was corroded, probably due to getting sea water in it. Hope that helps.

Canon flash does not work

The flash has to charge in between shots, so if you are not waiting long enough it won't charge and wont take the shot.

If you are waiting, Im not really sure...

Won't take pictures with flash

Hi,
The Manual for this camera is HERE

The orange flasing light at the back is a power indicator. It shows that there is not enough power to recharge the flash unit.

The first course of action is to replace the lithium Ion battery with a fresh one.
This is because they do "wear out" in as much as they cannot store maximum charge.

Check battery contacts are clean, and remove the camera from the dock when not charging.

If lights still blink, the last thing I can suggest is to reload the driver software for the camera.

If even this fails, it may be a broken connection within the camera, and this is usually uneconomic to repair.

Thanks for using Fixya!
Please remember that not everything can be repaired simply, and often replacement of small devices is more cost effective than repair. If the advice here enables a solution for you, please rate as Fixya, if it left out options, then rate as you see fit.
Thank you.

Panasonic DMC-FZ1 Flash still not working

If you have a lightning symbol followed by “A” in the upper left corner of display, try to change it to forced flash (only lightning symbol) or reduce iso settings because probably the camera “thinks” there’s sufficient light for the photo.

Built-in flash and an external flash simultaneously

Yes, please see the following table: Optional Flash Flash Control Mode Capacity FL-50 TTL Auto (Super FP flash)/ TTL Auto/ Auto/ Manual/ Manual (Super FP flash) The FL-50 flash can be connected with the E-300 camera through flash power grip: FP-1 and flash cable: FL-CB05. FL-40 Auto/ Manual The external flash cannot be used with the built-in flash. * Only Auto and Manual mode can be set in the concurrent use of FL-40 and the built-in flash. (For their specification design, E-300 and FL-40 can not communicate in TTL Auto and R-TTL Auto modes.) FL-36 TTL Auto (Super FP flash)/ TTL Auto/ Auto/ Manual/ Manual (Super FP flash) The external flash can be used with the built-in flash.

Settings that must be set before... the external flash feature

Yes, set the camera mode dial to P, A/S/M or any shooting mode except the movie mode. Turn on the extension flash unit's power then select the camera's flash mode. The flash mode button on the camera controls the built-in flash as well as the extension flash. Only the built-in flash and the Olympus FL-20/FL-40/FL-50 extension flash can use the red-eye reduction flash mode. All flash units can use the fill flash, flash off, and slow-sync flash modes.

Flash Problem

Using the flash When shooting with the built-in flash, open the flash manually. The flash does not pop-up automatically. The flash will not fire if it is closed. The flash will work when it is opened up. When the flash is open, the (flash on) icon or (automatic) icon will appear on the LCD monitor (or in the viewfinder). Flash on: The flash fires in every shot. Automatic: The flash fires automatically. Press the (flash) button to switch between the and flash modes while the flash is open. In some shooting modes, the flash mode does not switch even if the flash button is pressed. Please refer to Functions Available in Each Shooting Mode in the Camera User Guide provided with your camera for more information. When you are not using the flash, close it manually. When the flash is closed, the flash will not fire and the icon appears on the LCD monitor (or in the viewfinder).
