Question about Uniden 5.8GHz Expandable Cordless Phone System with Digital Answering System

2 Answers

Power supply I live in a remote area, well past the end of the power grid, and use solar power. I purchased a Uniden cordless phone/answering machine. The output from the AC adapter is 8 volts DC. So that I don't have to keep my inverter running to power the system, I would like to hard wire the unit to my 12 volt battery bank. Will the unit stand 12 volts without damage? (I realize that this will void the warrantee--that is a chance I am willing to take.)

You will need to buy an 8 or 9 volts voltage regulator and connect the positive side of the solar panel to lead 2 of your voltage regulator and GND to lead 2 and the output from it to lead 3.

Ok you will need a 8 volt zenor diode and prob about 100 ohm resister to lower your current. if you can't build this then how about gettin a cigar ligher adapter for auto that has a voltage selector on it. and hard wire it up.

Try disconnecting the power from the back of the base. Then press and hold the delete key while reconnecting the power. When power comes back on press play one time. If that does not work, your unit needs to be replaced.
