Self Clean won't start - Amana ACS3350AS Gas Kitchen Range

I try to start the self clean - set the time for 3 hours, after about 1 minute the oven just beeps and the panel says DOOR. I assume that it thinks that the door is open but it never latches. Auto Latch? The Light switch that turns the light on when the door is opened dosn't always work. The light switch on the panes does turn it on and off. Sometimes it seems to take an extended amount of time for the oven to just heat up.

Same problem at my apartment. When I go to push the cook button it says "door" When you lift the top of the stove off you'll see the door latch. It's just a latch for the automatic clean feature which noone ever uses. The latch gets rusty, and the connections on the two little microswitches get super corroded over time. I tried to wire brush the green scum off of them but the connections fell off. You'll probably have to replace the connections or just cut them off and jump the green and red wire together to bypass the whole thing which is what I did. Really easy fix. you first need a phillips to unscrew the metal things for the burners. Just be carefull taking the top off the stove cause the little wires that go to the gas sparker can get pinched or break.

Our door on this oven is coming apart, so the oven door never truly closes.  When you set the self clean cycle, push the door shut until it locks... at least this has worked for me.  But I think all your problems, which are similar to mine, result from the oven door not truly closing... heat escapes, so the temp is not right and takes forever to heat up.  The heat melts the control panel, causing other problems.  In fact, our door is starting to fall open... a bit dangerous.
Good luck!

Lost Manual and would like instruction on how to set for self clean cycle?

Make sure you have everything out of the oven, including the oven racks.

1. Press SELF CLEAN.
2. Press the TEMP/TIME "+" or "-" arrow pads to enter the desired self-clean cycle.
3. Press START.
The oven door will automatically lock. The DOOR LOCKED and CLEAN indicator lights will be
displayed.
4. When the self-clean cycle is complete and the oven cools, the DOOR LOCKED and CLEAN
indicator lights will turn off.
5. When the oven is completely cooled, remove ash with a damp cloth.

Recommended times are 2 hours 30 minutes for light soil and 4 hours 30 minutes for heavy soil.

If your oven has a HI and LO self clean time, HI is 4 hours 30 minutes and LO is 3 hours 30 minutes.

It is also recommended that you remove anything plastic from the top of the stove during cleaning.

Self clean oven door wouldn't unlock!

Hi,
Try a trick that was given by an expert :-
All I needed to do was unscrew the 2 screws holding the lock assembly and it released it!! I screwed it back in and set the oven to self clean and it worked!!
Unless , F9 refers to slave micro not working. A condition in which you might need to replace control board.
Thanks.
