remove the batteries from the remote then gently pry the cover open. use a coffee filter and clean the contacts on the board and rubber pads. if it is wet inside you can wash the board windex then dry it well before you put it back together

Its 50-50 at best that it will program or work.

Another option is take the bad remote to a repair shop--where I work we fix most of them and usually under 20 dollars.

What is the setup code for a Sylvania TV with Model Number RLC372AK01 and Serial Number 25014897? I need it to program a new remote control I recently purchased. None of the codes listed for Sylvania TVs...

The setup code may be different for each brand of remote, so a code for the TV will not help. You need to follow the instructions for the remote you bought to scan through all codes until you find one that works. Generally this is done by entering the programming mode and using the ch-up or ch-down buttons to scroll through the codes then use the power putton to see if it turns your set off. When you find the right one you press the button to 'store' it.
Your remote instruction booklet should step you through the process. If it does not have instructions for scanning all codes let us know the Brand and Model of the Remote you bought and we may be able to find the instructions.

either the remote is bad or on the tv the circuit board at has the remote receiver on it is bad. If you bought it new and it has a warranty contact them for service. If not you could try programming a universal remote to see if it will work your set.

Hello,

the fault is from your the TV sensor. Your remote sensor cannot sense the TV sensor, that's why the remote or any other cannot control your TV.

So its a remote sensor problem.

Take care.

Could the problem be my TV, not my remote?

It is possible the sensor in the TV or it's related circuitry could have a fault, this would cause the remote not to respond. If you have a local TV repair centre nearby you try taking your original remote into thier shop & ask if they could check it for you. There are devices which can check if a remote is sending out a signal or not, this would let you know if the TV is faulty. Have to tried to input ALL the given codes into your universal remote for this model?

Sorry to say but it is very hard to get parts for this brand. I don't take them for repair anymore. I have a few Duraband remotes. If you can give me the model number of yours, maybe I have a matching one for you.
