Well the most obvious possibility is that you put the blade on backwards.

But assuming you did not, I would guess it is the mulching feature of this blade, that pulls sand or small gravel out of the soil, and it impacts the blade I suppose?

2 black blades turn in wrong direction

Reroute the belts on the pulleys to the opposite side of those pulleys to reverse direction. But first, are you sure you put the blades on in the right direction.

Simplicity 44" mower blades

Thank you for the great picture. You should be able to wrap each blade with a towel or large rag and grip it with your hand whilst you put a box end wrench or a socket & rachet on the bolt and turn it to the left ( counter-clockwise) and loosten the bolt and remove both blade and bolt. Put them back on the opposite way. Do not use an open end wrench, pliers, vice-grips, or chanel-locks as you can round the corners of the bolts. Be certain the box-end wrench or socket fits the bolt exactly.Tighten the bolt back on with the same tightness as you removed it. A tiny bit of oil or grease on the bolt's threads will help it go smoothly next time.
Be blessed.

I have a black and decker lawn hog mower with a 19 inch cut that i am trying to change out the blade. My problem is i cant get the mounting nut off becausethe shaft keeps turning. I have tried everything,...

are you turning nut the right way ! on a lot of mowers, the nut turns off the opposite way the blade turns, to keep it tight. good-day ! Loosen the nut in the center of the blade with a wrench by turning the nut counterclockwise.

Husky yth1542xp. I've changed the blades, leveled

When levelling the deck, rotate the blades so that the right blade has one of its cutting edges at or near the right side center of the deck. Do the opposite with the left. Measure to the blades from the level ground, not to the deck. Try leveling that way.

Very little grass is shooting into the bag to fill it

Hello monica_skinn:

If the Underside of the Deck is Clean and the Blades are Tightened Properly, then the Problem is Caused by the Blade Lifts being Worn or the Blades are Not a High Lift (Bagger Blade) Blades.
A Bagger Blade has a Very High Lift Ear on the Backside of the Blade Across from the Cutting Edge. This Extra Lift is What Gives the Extra Lift and Throw (by increasing air Flow under the Mower) the Grass gets to be Bagged.
Please, Do Not Hesitate, If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance.
Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Be Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck

ROPE ON MOWER WON'T PULL OUT

I agree, it sounds like the mower is fouled with foliage at the blade. Pull off the spark plug wire and tilt the mower on its side opposite of the carburetor, check the underside of the mower for impacted grass clippings.
