Question about Polaris Ranger RZR Ride on Toy

1 Answer

My nieces have the Polaris ranger. Battery is good but I think there is a loose connection somewhere. it will start out fine and then after a few minutes of riding, it will quit. But then if you wait a few minutes, it will go again.

SOURCE: I bought a new Polaris

Hi alvinr123,

Please check and make sure that the wiring on the foot pedal is on. Sometimes the Peg Perego Polaris models will get corrosion on the red wire. After checking the wire, go ahead and charge the batteries for 24 hrs. If that doesn't work then you need to replace the batteries. I recommend to contact repair department at http://www.shopjandl.com/kids---baby-ride-on-toys-peg-perego.html.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Have you not overload the car?
Circuit breaker will automatically disconnect the power when operating in an overload condition. However, circuit breaker usually reset itself after 10 or more seconds.

In your case this will be your first target, check the circuit breaker
Then check if the battery connector is properly fix.
The last to check is the thermo protector.

I'll be attaching the pdf manual for this model. This include the parts description and the circuit diagram so it will be easy for your trouble shooting.

I have a 2004 Ford Ranger and when I try to remote start it, it starts but it sounds like its trying to start it again and then shuts off

If the truck starts fine with turn of the key in the ignition, look into finding the problem with the remote starter system.

Components maybe faulty or not proper.

Module.( Hidden underneath, usually somewhere under steering column area)

Receiver/Transmitter.( Mounted inside vehicle windshield )

Switch.( Under Hood, usually on the top radiator support bar )

Wiring.( all connected to the Module )

Fuse / Relay.

Remote / programming/ remote battery.

Connections that maybe loose, corroded, loose or wrongly connected.

Its also possible your vehicle might need a by pass module to connect with the remote starter module, to enable vehicle starting by remote.
.
Have a nice day.

I have a 2006 polaris ranger 500 that runs and starts fine when it is cold. After riding for a while and I stop the engine and try to restart a few minutes later, the engine cranks very slowly like it is...

It certainly could be. Polaris did have this problem in the 500 Sportsman in earlier years. Unfortunately, the decompressor can't be repaired on it's own, you'll have to buy the entire cam with the decompressor. The good news is Polaris reduced the price of the cams to make them more affordable to the individuals that missed the factory recall. Good Luck!

If your battery is good then you have dirty or loose connections at the battery or the starter. Quite often this will be on the ground side.

Electric start clicking

Check the battery with a VOM while pressing the start button. If you have good voltage check the voltage on the positive cable on the starter. If you have good voltage there you have a bad starter, considering your cable connections are clean and tight. If no voltage at the starter the solenoid is no good. Usually the click is the solenoid closing and if the connections are not clean or tight the current will not make it to the starter.
