Failure to change Filter Time

Have had a problem recently. on changing both lamp and filter and eradicating flashing lights (lamp and temp) now do not seem able to change filter time back to 101 hr (currently on 0hr). have followed the manual instructions but on choosing 'filter time' then pressing the ^ button the machine will not allow me to change the time which stubbornly remains on "cancel" can you please advise?

Hi bcressell

I'm not really following now. Why would you want to change back the filter timer to 101 hours if you cleaned the filter ?

This is normal to reset the filter and lamp timer if they were respectively cleaned or replaced.

Once you have reset the timers , there is unfortunately no turning back.

Thanks for using Fixya !

Unplug projector for about an hour, and then remove bulb, and filter, inspect areas for damage, also inspect it to make sure your inserting it correctly. put filter and bulb back in, put covers back on, then plug it back in. reset the timer. if you still have problems let me know.

Red power, blinking red temp

Hi,

if the Lamp error and Temperature error lights are flashing red this means that there are two separate errors.

  • A flashing lamp light means the lamp failed to ignite. It could be a lamp driver problem or lamp failure. Replace the lamp to resolve the issue. If the issue is not resolved, then service the projector.
  • A flashing Temperature light signals a fan error. Turn the projector off and allow it to cool down. If the light is still flashing after the projector is turned back on, service the projector.
Goodluck..

Benq w1000 project not turning on

Look at the manual page 34, for the indicator messages. I suspect it's the same problem I have (which I haven't had formally diagnosed yet!), which I believe is a defective fan. My projector had been making a really loud noise on startup, which varied in length and volume. Recently the projector has taken to turning itself off after being on for about a minute, and the power light flashes green, with the temp and lamp lights flashing red.

Lamp and filter lights flashing and we have just changed a lamp.

Reset the filter timer
The filter time is the time counted after the last resetting.
It is shown in the OPTION menu as the use time of the air filter.
Pressing the RESET button on the remote control for about 3 seconds displays a dialog.
To reset the filter time, select the RESET using the UP arrow button RESET and CANCEL

The projector will turn on normally, but after about 20 seconds the screen will go black and the "temp" and "lamp" alarm lights will flash on and off. I've changed the filter and we...

if you are replacing the lamp by yourself, and if you are touching the lamp body with your fingers, the lamp will be damadged fastly; because the lamp is sensible. the temperature of the lamp increase abnormally so the message 'temp' and 'lamp' increase. to solve the problem you need to replace a new lamp, but you have to install it at the BenQ service it's free.

Sounds like you have a faulty ballast. I recomend changing it. This is your lamps own power supply.

I have 2 SVGA60 Projectors that are saying Temperature!!! One does it then the other about 10 minutes later

several reasons, it could be you havent had its 1000Hrs service and is overheating or filter needs cleaning or lamp is past its change time and is generating too much heat or sensor can sometimes come away and drop into light path causing false sensing of temp.
