Question about Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
Sounds like malware . save your important files to a usb drive, then do a factory restore, otherwise its a few hours for a tech to clean up. .. other possibilities include, processor getting too hot, or install /upgrade the ram memory to its max. maybe first go run some spyware cleaning utilities such as spybot or adaware, see what it finds / cleans first.
