The problem solved itself. The vcr has stopped working, we turn it on and it turns itself right off.

The tape pops back out

The loading mechanism has to seat the cassette in the play position. In this case the mechanism is unable to do this. If you cannot get any cassette to load, the vcr may be shot. It probably could be repaired but you would have to consider cost

Tape Stuck

I've checked the entire user manual which notes problems like this need to be referred to authorized service personnel. Myself, I would unplug the entire unit, put it on a kitchen table using a phillips (cross-tip) screwdriver to remove the top metal shell. Remove at least 2 screws each side and 2-5 rear screws securing the top. Nothing like peering inside to see what is causing the VCR to get stuck and help remove it. No release pinhole or tape freeing ejector will work if the unit's tape is tightly wound around some internal object or the tape is stuck because something foreign is inside the unit. I need help programming vcr to tape show

Since the V9800 has no built-in tuner, your TV set must be set to the channel your show to be taped is on. There is no way to tune it to any particular channel. Now, isn't that convenient?

I cannot program the vcr to record i just do not know how to I can play tapes or wath the disk but cannot recore

make sure the tv is on channel 3, and the vcr also on channel 3 -if trying to record from cable or satalite. then make sure tape is rewound all the way. do a test by hitting record on vcr. let it record for a few minutes. rewind it, then just hit play. Dont change any channels until you are ready to record the program of choice. After this test. And recording is successful. Rewind the tape again. And change the channel to your choice. Hit record at time of or go into menu of your vcr and set up a time to record shows.

Sylvania SRD4900 DVD/VCR combo problem

Hi I am Temperance MI and I see this mode in my shop often, does any onscreen menu come up when using the remote and
going into menu? If not maybe the remote is bad, common just
a loose battery lead, If you are able to go into menu, and set the
clock, but unable to set timer record, look closely at you recordable tape to make sure on the left bottom from corner the
the recording tab is in place, You can place scotch tape over this hole of existing tab to ensure it will go into record. Finally
if it wont go into record when you try to use OTR, you
make a problem with the record ready switch in the VCR section. Joe . East Electronics, Temperance MI
