Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. If the igniter glows and burner lights then the issue seems to be with the ignition switches which are located under the surface control knobs. These switches can twist and break and keep the spark module on and the spark keeps "clicking" even when the burner is light. If every thing looks good, you may have a bad spark module and you’ll have to replace it. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Oven will ignite but want rare up

Depending on what model stove you have on what it uses for ignition.
Most likely a glow bar type .
even though it glows it still can be bad.
glow type needs to draw the right amps for the safety valve to open if not the right amp draw valve will not open.
that's why its called a safety Valve no glow no lite.
Change the glow ignition other then that send us the model # off your range and we can get you exact price quote on parts you need
Have a great day

Oven takes too long to heat up sometimes wont even go to the temperature ignitor is working well can see the glow magic chef model 3488vvv serial 13368882kz

Hello there:
Hi,

When you turn the oven on, open the oven door and look down at the bottom and see if its glowing red, it should glow red for about 45-60 seconds then you should hear the gas ignite. If the gas doesn't ignite, then your igniter glow bar is bad.

Here's the oven glow bar igniter for your model:

Modal & serail # 36 - 3272 - 23 - 08323 - 184716694. Turn on oven Glow plug comes on but oven dose not ignite, I don't smell any gas!

ignitors can glow and still be bad 95 % of the time it's the ignitor doesn't have enuff resistance to open the valve, 5% the valve

The ignition goes on but gas dose not goes on.the oven is GE about 20 year old. the ignition is electric. Not sure model # AT501820J

by ignition goes on I assume that you can see it glowing ..these are just tiny heating elements and when they get to a certain current they open the gas valve and it ignites. These little elements over time start to loose there effectivness and either take a realy long time to open the gas valve or don,t open it at all. The igniter is realatively cheap and easy to change if you're inclined give it a try... turn off the gas turn of the electricity and be carefull, I will warn you however I,ve done lots of these and in a small number of cases it turns out to be the gas valve itself ...don,t do that one unless you are familiar with gas valves and have exactly the right tools Good Luck

The lower oven ignighter does not glow

I had the same problem and swapped the oven igniter with the broiler igniter and the oven now works. This proved the oven igniter itself was the fault, now I have to replace the broiler igniter with a new one(which is much easier to get to).

FYI: An igniter may glow red and still not allow the oven to work. The igniter has to draw a certain amount of electrical current for the main gas valve to open.

Kenmore oven wont work

Hi, The most common issue when the oven doesn't work is the ignitor. You can open the door and remove the floor panel inside the oven. Start the bake and see if the ignotor glows. It probibly will but, that doesn't mean it is ok. It just means the ignitor is getting voltage. When the ignitor is glowing, you can try (BE CAREFULL not to be to close to the buner) and tap on the side of the gas valve with the handle of a screwdriver. If the gas ignites, you will need to change that ignitor.
Again, this is very common.
Please let me know if this helps you or if I can assist you further.

THE OVEN WILL NOT HEAT

How old is the unit? Sometimes the igniter can glow but if it isn't drawing the right amount of power to open the gas valve then that is the safety that is built into the oven... So unless the power requirement is meant gas valve will not light. Even though the hot surface igniter is glowing red hot. chances are the igniter is bad. Let me know what turns up. ken

Kenmore Oven not working

Remove the bottom panel from inside the stove. Turn on the stove and see if the igniter glows bright red. If not glowing, replace the igniter. In some cases, even if the igniter is glowing, the resistance may not be low enough to turn on the gas valve. In either case the igniter has probably gone bad. ($50.00 to $90.00 for igniter)

GE Oven does not light - no gas smell and no electronic ignition clicking sound

It probably needs an oven igniter. Remove oven racks. Remove oven floor. Usually 2 screws towards back. Remove flame spreader if it has one. You can see long tube with holes in sides and igniter with 2 wires from rear. Now try oven. See if igniter glows. If it does but doesn't light within 1 minute, replace igniter.
If it doesn't glow, you need to check for power to igniter. Should be about 100 volts. If not may need ERC, "Electronic Range Control".
