Question about Samsung SyncMaster 931B 19" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

I have a samsung 19" LCD 931BW. Problem is- When i turn on the pc, nothing displays on the monitor though the CPU already is booted. After several CPU resets, there is already display. I think the monitor needs to be warmed up first as it doesn't display immediately.

You need to try it with another PC first to make sure it is not PC problem, most failures in monitors are due to bad caps as you can see the failed SAMSUNG albums.
Please read my guide and look at the albums so you will have more understanding if it turns out to be the monitor problem.

When i turn on my lcd samsung syncmaster 540n it displayed a lot of colored vertical and horizontal lines.no video when i attached my cpu but it turns on when i powered my cpu

boot up in safe mode (press f8 while booting) If your monitor works now, you need to go the the samsung site and download the driver for you monitor. I assume windows 7, since that is where most of the monitor problem occur.

Samsung 19 "LCD SyncMaster 931BW ...Colored

Hook a spare monitor to the computer to insure there is no problem, if everything checks out okay, the problem is in the Samsung screen display and is not cost effective to repair, far cheaper to buy new. But if both screens show the same problem, it is a video graphics card issue in the computer, one further thing if the video cord is detachable from both ends, sub another cord.

Typical symptom of dying power supply due to bad caps with domed tops as you can see in my SAMSUNG albums. Make sure to replace them in a set.
If you are going to DIY and already try the monitor with another PC, and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:

Try it with another PC to make sure is is not the PC video card problem, also chek the cable. If it still does not work, then you will have to open it up.
