Re: how to stop red blinking "paper"? couldn't stop
There is probably a paper jam since you shut it off as it was printing. Turn off the printer. Remove the tray and look inside. Remove any sheets of paper you see. Open the back of the printer (the pass-thru door) and remove any paper you see. Turn on the printer. If that fails, check the blink status against the manual's troubleshooting guide to locate a different solution.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Every time there is paper jam, the printer knows the job is not completed and hence tries to re-print after the paper is removed and cover is shut.
Clear the print job from computer.
Power off the printer and Clear the paper jam (if any)
I would try to use different tray. The paper pickup roller in one path may be worn out.
eg Sheet feeder or multipurpose tray.
Load paper in new tray
Set the application to use new tray
Ensure you sue the right thickness (gsm) of the paper. Quality of paper is crucial. Too thin; too thick can affect functioning.
Pl. select the paper size ( as mentioned on the paper packet) on computer on click START-PRINTER AND FAXES(new window opened)-(right click on printer icon) PRINTING PREFERENCE(new window opened)-select PAPER -paper option (here the paper size to be selected- APPLY. This may set the paper size default.
By analyzing your printer paper jam problem,it deffinately due to paper piece or dust particle wrapped to the the printer page roller. So check your printer keenly for any paper piece or any other obstacle disturbing printer roller and clean dust wrapped on printer roller with brush. Then turn on the printer give the page to the printer, care must be taken that page inserted is must be straight.then give the print. It definitely solves your problem.if you have any problem regarding this issue comment your problem with more information,we will glad to assist you.
its not the problem of toner cartridge.its the problem of gears which pulls the paper they r worn out or may be cracked internally.exactly what happens when you u give the print for the first time the printer gets command and the gears starts spinning and the paper gets pulled because it gets a pressure internally and after 2 pages that pressure gets low and it stops pulling the paper.some times changing the paper thickness solves the problem temporvarily .i mean use the thick quality paper instead of thin.
It turned out to be a paper jam. I was getting the wrong msg from the printer. I notice that U have charged my bank acct. 4 BOTH of ur plans, Since I solved the problem myself, pls rescind these charges. Thank you. jrfoley1@ juno.com
Just fixed my printer issue, had the same problem, Would load 1 sheet, then jam, sometimes it won't pull the paper out of the tray, sometimes it would pull the paper to the toner area, but never into the toner, opening and slamming the paper tray while it attempted to load would usually work, but who wants to slam the tray 50 times? I was using Walgreens generic paper, 20lb, took some higher-quality 24lb HP paper and VOILA! It works every time! EVERYONE WHO IS HAVING THIS PROBLEM, CHECK THAT YOU ARE USING 24LB PAPER!!! Brother says 20-24 is acceptible, but sneaking one sheet of 20lb paper about 15 sheets down in a 20 sheet print job and it will stop at it every time, You can feel the difference, less like toilet paper and more like real paper.
