Right click on the desktop and select Properties. Click the Settings tab and adjust the screen resolution and click Apply. You may have to do this a couple of times until the resolution matches that of your monitor. The closer you can get to the monitor's standard resolution, the better your image will be.

Sometimes it is the monitor that needs adjusting. In that case try the monitor's on-screen display accessed by the buttons on the monitor.

I bought new monitor Compaq S1922a and picture stretched horizontal. I have HP intel with Vista. How to adjust VGA to make picture normal?

if the whole image is too long you can adjust it from tthe image driver ..it will be in the right side on the task bar near the programs that are opened all the time ..and named like the video card you are using and usually will display when hoovering the resolution in use..open the resolutions and choose one that fits best...and confirm ..
To adjust just the the picture from the desktop ..right click on the desktop..properties..and desktop...in there choose the desktop image ..or change image ..and you will have 3 possibilities for adjusting the picture to fit..center ...stretch..and tile.. see them one by one ...if non of the stile will make it visible in a normal way ..then you should change the picture,,and choose a wallpaper that it is in the same form and big enough to fit....
T change a picture on the wallpaper it is enough to right click on it when its opened ..and choose it to be set as wallpaper from the list of tasks...

Is there any way to adjust the screen image size? I recently connected a computer to the DVI input, and at 1280x720 there is quite a bit of overscan. Is it possible to reduce the image size?

Change the display settings on the computer desktop, try various sizes.

If using programs like word or firefox change display size with shift/mousewheel. Also change font sizes for best view. Don''t worry about resolution numbers, adjust for good picture.

Need to adjust image to fit screen

IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE SOME CAPACITORS OUT OF TOLERANCE WHICH NO AMOUNT OF ADJUSTMENTS WILL PUT IT RIGHT. BUT IF YOU GET THE CAPACTIORS REPLACED I AM SURE THAT SHOULD FIX YOUR PROBLEM.

How do i adjust size of desktop background to fit screen

If you are using Windows Vista right mouse click on an empty area of the desktop and select personalize. Click on the tab for background and there are options there to fit to screen, stretch image, tile, etc. Select the stretch image and then apply. It will make the image fit your entire desktop. If you are using Windows XP it would basically be the same steps exceot when you right click you would select properties. Hope this helps.

I can't see all of the screen at one time

The Dell E173FP is one of the cheapest in their line, and is fairly good value for money, the panel only has a Vga input so the image
quality isn't quite as good as it could be with DVI input.
unistall any video card that you have installed. use the VGA output on the back panel.
The monitor maximum resolution in 1280x1024 although it can be run at down to 640x480. When it is at anything but its native resolution the image looks a little distorted and washed out as it is stretched to fit the screen. When at native resolution it has a good picture though, clear and fairly bright, although maybe a little darker than other screens with a brightness rating of only 250cd/m^2, compared to an average brightness of 4-500cd/m^2 on recent panels.
so with say, there is not much you can do to adjust the screen to the best you can and make sure the frequecy is set at 60Hz.
