The best way to resolve this is by inserting your windows xp cd. Then booting from it. Run the 'recovery console' You can find the rundll32.exe on the cdrom drive; simply "copy" it from the cd to your windows\system32 directory.

Error rundll32

at pc? more info? i think wrong section ^_^

What is rundll32.exe (rundll32.exe error)?
rundll32.exe (rundll32.exe error) Description: Rundll32.exe is a program which would have been on your pc since the day you purchased your pc. Always verify the exact disk location as many virus and spyware writers will attempt to fool you by using a similiar name or same name in a different location. This file is part of the Microsoft Windows operating system. Rundll32.exe will actually execute functions in DLLs. If you are deleting files on your computer as a spyware removal protection method, then note that this is a required system file. Note that rundll32.exe can also be running many different other DLL or EXE programs, so you may want to check the programs listed after it in your startup list also, as these may be executed by it. Rundll32.exeis considered safe and is not spyware, adware, or virus related and does not need to be removed.
rundll32.exe error: rundll32.exe error. Be sure to always double check your spelling if you are concerned about spyware, as often spyware will use a very similiar spelling of system processes or other common tasks. rundll32.exe error

Remember that although many files are always in default file locations, some files can easily be moved to different locations or change names like many spyware, adware, or popup programs do. If you suspect you have spyware or adware, check to see if you see a similiar names stored elsewhere. It always helps to check your tasklist also to see what is currently running on your computer. You can always view the tasklist on your computer by pressing ctrl-alt-del to view your "task manager", and then click the "processes" tab. This will show you all tasks running on your computer. Dll files will NOT show on your computer tasklist, as dll files are actually part of other processes. You may see similiar program names running if spyware or adware is on your computer, for example, ati2evxx.exe may be slightly misspelled to keep you from finding it, or spyware and adware may be named very similiar to a system file. Make sure always check the location of tasks or processes if you are concerned.Remove rundll32.exe virus

Windows cannot find rundll32.exe

Are you getting a window that pops up asking you to select which program to open with when you click on anything? If so your program file associations have been changed by a virus or infection.

Try restoring them by running the programs from the link below. Run each one of them. Don't worry, they are safe, tried and tested many times to get things back in order.

How do I restore XP rundll32.exe?

I've used SFC to repair Windows 2000/2003 servers in the past, it debuted in Windows 2000 and it fixes system dlls. Start > Run > type 'cmd' and 'sfc /scannow'. You will have to insert a Windows XP SP2 cd for it to work (or mount and ISO of XP with a tool like alcohol 120).

If the %systemroot%\system32\dllcache folder becomes corrupt or unusable, use sfc /scannow, sfc /scanonce, or sfc /scanboot to repair the contents of the Dllcache directory.

Everytime i try to open an application or anything, it says the file "rundll32.exe" is not a win32 file, how do i change

Hi hansomeone45

Maybe you have virus on your computer, and it has infected the file rundll32.exe and therefore you cannot use it.

You can try several things I explain here :

IF you have a backup copy of your hard disc´s you can restore from the backup copy.

You can try to system restore in at the : start- all programs- accessories- system accessories- system restore
or in : start- help and support- and there find "system restore"

System restore will roll back the computer as it was before (day, week, month ago).

You can reinstall the computer for the procedure please look here :
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315341

You can read about the file here :
http://en.kioskea.net/contents/processus/rundll32-exe.php3

Or you can try to run this app :
http://www.rundll-exe.com/

OR

Remember you can try to copy the file from another computer to your computer !

Hope that helps
