Hi. I am having issues with my E6 memory card. It is a very wierd kind of problem. Even if the lock is in the 'free' mode the contents can be accessed from the phone, but not from the PC. I cant add anything or delete from the card. Tried everything. The biggest problem is that the card is perfectly ok when working on Vista but I cannot do anything with it on XP ! Somebody help...

You can see a tiny lock (kind of sliding button with the label ("lock") in memory card. Try it

I had the same problem with several cards but eventually found a way around it. DON'T buy a new one!

Make sure the SD card lock is 'off' and then use thin, opaque sticky tape (ie non see-through; eg insulation tape) to cover the whole gap but keep clear of the metal contacts at the back.

Your card should work fine now... don't know why this has to be done, but it works! Additional info: Reason #1, the mechanical lock switch accidentally moves to the "locked" position during insertion due to the poor quality of the switch. Hence, by taping it, you are actually preventing the lock switch to travel towards the lock position. i.e. downwards.

Just take your Memory Card's Jack and see there is a TINY LOCK. If it is Locked then Unlock it and you will see the change.... Remember that it is for the problem which says " Memory Card Protected "..... I know this will help you

You might want to "format", or "fix" your memory card, these can have corrupt items on them.

To format the memory card:

  1. Press Menu (Center Select Key).
  2. Scroll to and select Settings.
  3. Scroll to and select Phone Status.
  4. Scroll to and select Storage Devices.
  5. Scroll to and select Memory Card.
  6. Press Menu.
Note: If the memory card is not listed please remove and re-insert the memory card and restart Steps 1-5.
  7. Scroll to and select Format. The following message will display: "Formatting will erase all data. Continue?".
  8. Press Yes. The following message will display: "Format Complete. Enter New Label?".
  9. Press Yes and enter a desired label for the memory card.
    — or —
Press No to use generic label.

I cant move any files from phone memory to memory card because it is write protected?how to solve this problem?

First you have to remove ur Memory Card from ur phone, in ur Memory Card (with adapter, which is attached with ur card) there is one button u would see in right hand side...

So u have to move that button to another side and then insert ur Memory Card, then the files will be moving from ur Memory Card to ur phone memory.. Thatssssssss ittttt._227.jpg

Can not be able to import a big video file through data cable

It generally happens when your phone memory is full. Try changing the default saving location of your phone as memory card or else move all your existing files to memory card . This option is there in the options tab. This will create space and then you can save.
