Question about Air Conditioners

3 Answers

I have a Carrier Infinity System that has the "auto" setting which is where I usually keep it in the spring time to go back and fourth as needed for proper temp control in the house. About once a year, I get a "Sens Error" because the A/C tries to cool when it is below 60 outside. Is there a simple way to bypass or turn off this function, or do I need to call my dealer, and waste a $75 service call to get this taken care of?

Well, that book is what I have been going by at home, it is about as helpful with this problem as a screen door would be on a submarine.

I know there is a way to clear the error, and that's what I'm looking for. The book does not give me that information.

There should be a setting on the control panel labeled as cooling lockout with a default setting of "none"

you can switch this to a lower temperature and that should fix the problem by not providing any A/C once the temperature gets below the point.

Let me know if you have any further questions and I would be glad to help

It should be in the menu under setup -> Heat Pump/AC

You need to select specific day and times when you want this or that temperature. Refer to this manual pages 3 to 10

    Check also 'PROGRAMMABLE FEATURES,
SETUP & OPERATION'', from page 16 onward. And program the conditioner on different settings in warm period.

Hello BVeneman.

I would reckon that there is an issue with the thermistor on your machine. Unless you know how to get it replaced, I suggest you get a professional to look into it. It will be worth it in the long run..

Hope that helps! Should you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here.

P.S. - If you find that the solution/answer I provided led you to, or resulted in a fix, please close the ticket with a FixYa! rating. I would be very grateful for your show of appreciation.
If your issue is not resolved, please do not assign a rating just yet. Please post back as to what steps you took, results, etc, and I will try to assist you further as best I can. I am here at your service.

Thank you for using FIXYA!

Cheers!

I have the carrier infiniti system. When my thermostat reaches the set temperature it doesn't always shut off. I shut off the main control to let it reset. It works for a while and then it starts

Carrier Infinity system is a variable speed unit that will just slow down as it approaches set point. Unless it overshoots the set temperature (you have it set on 72 and the temperature keeps rising above 72) this just sounds like normal operation.

CARRIER INFINITY WEATHERMAKER WHERE IS THE RESTART SWITCH

Carrier Infinity systems, do not have a manual reset switch. It will have an automatic reset depending on the failure.
I would first, turn off the breaker to the indoor and outdoor units. Wait about 5 mins and turn the breakers back on. Doing this will reset the Control Board in the system. The system itself, is probably locked out.
This should get the system to come back on, However, you may have the problem come back and lock out the system again.
If this happens again, i would advise calling a Carrier dealer with Infinity systems to test it.

Hope this helps

Carrier infinity control SYSTXCCUID01-B sensor communication erro

There should be a little black sensor bulb outside either on the unit normally under the electrical panel or inside it. It sound like the wire has come off or been disconected. It needs that on to properly run. Your control is trying to communicate with the outdoor unit and can not.

Carrier Infinity Control Thermostat SYSTXCCUID01-B

Your old stat is wired for a traditional thermostat and not a communication stat like the new infinity you have. There is a module plug on the furnace board that will need to be connected to the new thermostat for it to work. The wires that are wired now are from a terminal strip inside the furnace. Please contact your local Carrier dealer. They may be able to get that harness for you
