Probably the best thing you can do, if you haven't already tried it. Is to take the spark plug back out, leave it connected to the lead, earth it to the cylinder somewhere and pull the starter and look for spark, if no spark, pull out the spark plug and stick in a screw driver into the lead and hold it just off the cylinder, look for spark again. If still no spark there is a fair chance you coil is no good. Also, it is possible that the spark plug could be faulty even though it's new. Good luck and i hope this helps.

No spark on Huskvarna Rancher 55

disconnect any and all kill wires going to the coil... if you still have no spark then it can ONLY be the coil... if this produces spark then you have a kill system problem or your flywheel has no magnetism... and this can be the only solution as you do not have points/condenser or things just went full derp

Husqvarna rancher 55 chainsaw having problem starting have spark new spark plug, plug is wet after trying to start it

You need to check that this machine is mechanically sound, remove the muffler and check the condition of the piston skirt through the open exhaust port, any signs of scuffing ( seizure ), and the cylinder will need to be removed to assess the damage

Husqvarna 455 rancher Starts fine and runs great for about 5 mins. Stalls and wont restart until cold. Problem than repeats

Try removing the fuel cap for a moment to see it can be restarted immediately. If this works, check the fuel tank vent for plugging problems. Also, check for spark at the plug when it dies--if no spark, try a fresh plug gapped at 0.020". If nothing, the ignition module may be failing with heat. Good luck!

I own a 99' Husqvarna 55 rancher that suddenly just cut off. I pulled the plug while it was cold and didn't get any spark. I took the cover off to access the coil, checked flywheel magnets and one of them...

Try sticking a piece of iron or steel to each magnet face which should hold firmly. If ok, concentrate on the ignition module. Remove the single wire attached to the body of the module and try for spark again. Be sure to try a fresh plug gapped at 0.020" to make sure the old one did not short out internally. If still no spark, replace the module. Use a thin business card for a pole gap gauge. Turn the flywheel magnets under the module, insert the card, and allow the module to contact the magnets.
Tighten the module screws, then turn the flywheel somewhat to remove the card. Turn the flywheel one full turn to make sure the gaps don't close further. Don't forget the stop-switch wire connection. Hope this helps!

Husqvarna ranger 55 chainsaw starts but quits

I too have a rancher 55 and had what sounds like the same problem this week. It would start fine but run for only a few seconds at a time. I took it all apart today and found the problem - a cracked fuel line. In the places where I could see the hose it looked fine, but it wasn't until I removed the fuel tank that I found the crack...right where it exits the tank and then goes thru the housing above it. You don't need to remove the tank to replace the hose but it is easier that way. You do have to push it thru a grommet at the top of the tank. I read some other posts about checking the tank vent to see that it's not plugged up. Mine was ok so I knew it had to be something else. The vent is in a hole about the size of a pencil and is recessed about an inch into the tank on the upper right side. Its partially covered by a plastic cap that's part of the vibration damper, which can be removed to gain access to the vent. The vent tube can then be pushed out from inside the tank with the use of long needle nose pliers, but be gentle. I just loosened it then pushed it out with a finger. I put it all back together with a new hose and its running like new again!

Husqvarana Rancher 55 , how to clean the exhaust port

Cleaning the exhaust: on the saws I've worked with it was just to loosen two bolts at the front and then the exhaust is off the saw. Clean with brake cleaning fluid and blow with compressed air, let it dry before assembling. Don't forget to clean the fine mesh at the output side underneath the lid if present (i.e the spark arrestor).

Make sure to have your carb adjusted properly afterwards.
