Nope. It can be the pump or the flow meter to be honest. What the machine is really saying is there's a blockage or lack of flow threw the system so it blames the pump.

It could be either or and there is no way to fix it other then sending it out.

I'm sorry you felt my solution wasn't acceptable.

My company has been repairing saeco's for a little over 10 years now and I was being honest.

By all means try replacing the pump yourself. its a ulka pump, easily found online.

There's six screws on the royal. 2 under the water tank, 2 on the grinder bean holder, and 2 in the front bezel in the middle. Left and right sides.

The flowmeter is a little U shaped white plastic component connected to the pump. Controls...you guessed it, the flow of water into the machine.

If you haven't descaled or taken care of the machine or if its not on a surge protector. 95% chance thats the reason it started. Ulka's do go out fairly often.

Almost all home machines use this pump.

Hi
For the Royal Pro there is a button that has a drop sign(water drop) on it. You have to push the drop button to flow water from the steam wand. This should clear the ventilate but if it doesn't check my other tips for "Ventilate"

My Saeco Royal Coffee Maker keeps giving me a ventilate message and wont do anything else. What is wrong? And how can I fix this?

Having read the other reviews here, I was prepared for the cryptic "VENTILATE" message. (The manual refers to this procedure as "Loading the circuit", which doesn't help to clarify things.) Of course this refers to what Americans would call "priming" the machine. As mentioned in another review, there is a plastic hand pump supplied for priming, but that is only needed in the event that the electric pump fails to self-prime. All I had to do (following the quick-start instructions) was to select the Hot Water function; the internal pump quickly primed itself. Hope this helps , Lee Davidian

Ventilate sign on my coffee machine

When it says to ventilate, it is asking you to prime the pump. Put acup under the panarello wand ( the steamer/frother) to catch thedischarged water and press the hot water button (upper left button onmy machine). Wait until air stops coming out with the water, usually3-5 ounces, and then press the hot water button again.

You machine is now ventilated (primed) and should be ready to go.
