Power on my Fujitsu Seimans Lifebook B-2154

I have recently bought a reconditioned B-2154 with the company stating that they do not recondition the battery or power supply. Once I got the Notebbok it wont charge and shuts itself of regularly even when when plugged into the main power supply. Do you think I just need a new battery or power adapter? If so where would be best to find this? Any help you could give would be very much apprieciated.

Check that the power light is lit on your laptop somewhere when the external power adapter is plugged in. If it does not have the power adapter checked or check it yourself if you have a multimeter on DC volts. If it does seem to work, log into windows and setup the power options to keep the computer running as it sounds as though its shutting itself down to standby or hibernate after a certain amount of time. Go to start, settings, control panel, power options and select "system standby" and "system hybernates" to "never" to keep the laptop on. Then you can look at getting a new battery to make your laptop portable again!

Can you hear the fan running when the laptop is on? The processor may not be seated properly or was not installed properly.
Dust and dirt build up on the internal components may be causing over heating too. Try blowing it out with a can of compressed air as much as you can. Make sure you remove all power resources first.

Just bought a reconditioned D620. The orange light above the Wireless Lan switch keeps flashing. Also, I cannot get the machine to work wireless. How do I fix this please?

Sadly I have had 4 bad experiences with reconditioned Dell hardware. All bought directly from Dell they were defective. Dell has no quality control on its reconditioned/refurbished hardware. Before banging your head against the wall too much on this issue I would simply return it. The fault you are describing can be related to a defective wireless lan adapter. -Ravi Shanghavi

The compaq no4010 battery lasts only 30 minutes use, or less. The software shows 2 batteries, and shows the state of the batteries, one of which it says is not there. Are we missing a battery? ( The...

This model can be fitted with an optional additional battery pack that attaches onto the base of the unit. If you do not have this (unlikely that you do) the software will show only one battery.

As you bought the unit reconditioned it is possible that the battery is coming to the end of its useful life - they do degrade with time.

Unless you know someone with a similar machine, and can swap batteries to test, then you should probably buy a new battery. You can easily source this online with a google or ebay search.

Does reconditioned laptop means refurbished or used? I bought an Acer One 8.9" , there is a stickers on the back showing "reconditioned" what does that mean?

Hi,
Unfortunately it can mean both, for example when Microsoft tried to push Vista on the market and discontinue XP any brand new machine that had XP preinstalled on was classed as "refurbished/reconditioned"
In some cases they sell them as refurbished/reconditioned when new laptops are returned as faulty or repossessed, so they reinstall the operating system.
Your better off contacting who you bought it off and ask them to clarify their meaning of "reconditioned" as you may only have 7 days returns policy on it.

Regards.

Fujitsu Lifebook B2154

Sure, on EBay. A search by using the terms Fujitsu Lifebook Laptop in that order and should get you the most results. Click here to go to the results page. That I came up with doing just that. Make sure you have a reputable seller and ask them questions of some sort to see if they easily speak with you in a friendly fruitful manner. If they don't I wouldn't buy from them.

Those are great laptops and there are plenty of them in use.

Let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

Power supply

Does the AC adapter plug wobble where it plugs into the charging jack? If so, the jack's connections have broken free from the motherboard, so you can't charge the battery or power the notebook without it. Fujitsu won't let us "common folk" have access to service manuals. I had a Fujitsu, same problem, and I couldn't make it work any less, so I winged it, and succeeded.

Expensive to have a repair shop fix. If you want to try, email me at jacobson@sonic.net. I'll tell you how I did it (Lifebook C2240). It might be similar for yours.
