Question about ViewSonic VA1926w Monitor

1 Answer

Have a ViewSonic VA926 monitor, that started saying no signal. I have checked all connections and also removed and hooked to another computer, and it worked. I hook to mine and again reads no signal. Any suggestions?

Try a different monitor on your computer. If it still gets no signal, then it is possible your video card has failed.

The monitor turns on but says "no signal"

Usually this means either your cable isn't connecting properly to your computer or there is a compatibility problem between the monitor and the computer. Are you getting the "no signal" message AFTER you have connected the machine to a working/ turned on computer? Because the monitor will ALWAYS say "No signal" if it isn't hooked up to anything. Also, you will want to verify that none of your pins (from the end of the cable) is missing, and that your cable is firmly seated into the port on your computer. Other than those things, you really need to say a lot more than just, "The monitor turns on but says 'no signal'" for anyone to be able to assist you.

No signal ???????

I have the same problem in setting up two displays, a Dell as primary and a VA2223wm Viewsonic as secondary, both connected to an Nvidia geforce 9500 GT. I think it might be the cable, but it's baffling. I have one DVI cable that seems to work on either monitor, and either plug on the graphics card. The second DVI cable doesn't seem to work, but when it's connected to the Viewsonic, the Nvidia control panel detects the monitor as secondary, so I can change settings, etc., but the monitor still says no signal. Each monitor works separately when connected with one cable, but not with the other.

Thoughts?

Screen started to flicker and took sometime to turn on about a week ago. Now the screen will not power on. Blue on light is illuminated.

Check the power supply/inverter caps, look for any bad caps with domed tops, as you can see here, the comon problems are due to bad caps.

Out of range

You can try removing signal cable from pc.If it still says "Out of range" most probably main logic card or interface board as it is known in the lcd monitor could be defective. If on the other hand removing the signal cable gives message No signal ,cable not connected, try connecting monitor to another working known pc.If it still doesn't work the interface board in the monitor is defective.
