You'll need to have the serial number that is engraved on a metal plate or possibly engraved on the grill itself. Or, if you do not have the serial number, you can use the weber site and search for the type of grill you have for replacement parts.
They also have a toll free number for further assistance. If you live out side the USA or Canada, you will need to contact them for parts.

When I shut the lid of my weber q the outside ring burner fades out to one end then flames up into the lid. The flame is also very yellow. The Weber is 18 months old

Barry, from what you have described, it sounds like the Venturi Valve on the open end of the burner is clogged. Spiders like to build nest in them. The Venturi Valve mixes air to the gas, so that there is complete, clean combustion when the burner is ON. Removing and cleaning the burner should solve the problem.

Hope this helped you and Happy Grilling!! Thanks for choosing FixYa..

My control knobs are getting really hot and are actually melting

Sounds like the Venturi Valves on the burner may be partially clogged and the flame is big firing around the burner orifice. This is fixable, but requires removing and cleaning all the burners and their venturi valves.

One other thing it might be, and this will depend on how old the grill is and how well cared for the grill is. The burner's manifold may be leaking. That's a more serious problem, that requires quite a bit of work to replace.

Go with the first solution first and if the doesn't solve the problem, it will be the second one.

Hope this helps you troubleshoot and solve the problem.

Low flame - doesn't heat enough

Hi, Patty. The low burner flame on a natural gas grill an be caused by several things.

1. The gas line shutoff valve is not fully open.
2. The burners are clogged and need to be removed and properly cleaned
3. The venturi valve(s), which has spider screens may be clogged.

The things listed above are the top 3 reasons for the low burner flame problem on a Natural Gas Grill.

To help you accomplish the cleaning of the burners and the venturi valves, I have included a link to your Owners Manual, that you can download & print for future reference. It has detailed instructions and diagrams in the Maintenance section, that will show you how to accomplish this.

Hope this helps you to solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks and Happy Grilling!!

Does not heat up right

Disconnect tank - remove cooking grates and flavorizer bars - use a soft metal brush and lightly brush the burner tube (where the flame comes out) and make sure they are not clogged up. While you have the grates and bars out you should clean them as well with hot soapy water and a brush. Put all pieces back in when done cleaning and re-connect the propane tank. Open propane tank valve 1/3 of a turn and light grill. After it ignites, open valve further. Usually a good cleaning will take care of it. If not, it may be the gas regulator. Weber has great customer service and will be more than glad to help you with just a phone call. On your grill there should be a label showing your model and serial number. It is very helpful if you have this info if you call Weber (but not totally necessary). Weber contact number is 1-800-446-1071

I need to convert my Weber Genesis Silver B grill from Natural gas(NG) to Propane (LP). It is as simple as replacing the NG manifold and valve assemble with the NG one BUT Weber wont sell it to me...

I would contact a propane distributor, They should be able to locate the part. I don't know where your at but the one in my area (Central Oregon is Ed Staub and Sons )

You problem could be or probably is with the regulator...not enough gas pressure...

Our natural gas Weber grill has 2 of the 3 burners that won't light? Where do we start trouble shooting?

I would start by cleaning all of the burners and making sure the gas "orifice" for each burner is clear. It is a very small hole that can easily become clogged.

Cleaning the grill grate

The best thing to use to clean the grill grating is a brass brush these may be bought at most hardware stores and even wal mart.

Clogged gas line new grill- our gas grill will not heat up properly it is relatively new and we bought it at home depot- help

Check a few things:

Make sure your hose is not chewed or marred.
Make sure you are turning the unit on and off correctly. Webers are different than other grills to turn on /off. Please check your manual for the instructions on how to do this.
Another thing if this is propane it might be a spider in your grill that is clogging the unit for you.
go to: weber website they will be able to help you.

Ignite prob

You've got two different things going on.  First - the type of igniter used on your model does wear.  I have had mine for over 10 years and have gone through 3 such igniters - and I grill nearly 3 times per week over the 25 week "grilling" season where I live. Spring for the $12 part and just replace it. The other issue sounds like a clogged cross-over system.  I would remove the burners, including the cross-over bar on the far left side that connects them.  Clean the exterior with a stiff steel/brass brush and the inside with a bottle brush.  Make sure all the holes are clear to allow gas to flow easily - use a wooden tooth-pick to do this to make sure you don't change the size of the holes! Put that baby back together and I think you'll find you'll be good as new!
These grills are great.  Now, if Weber could only fix the uneven heat problem between the left and right side I'd REALLY be happy!  (I wish they would even just admit there IS a problem!)
Good luck and happy grilling.
