Hi,

As the weather is getting warmer for many people their freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong. If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing then check out the last two tips.

If your refrigerator is running but warm, then…

Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

There were a few models which had moisture in the door issues, which GE resolved by replacing the door with an upgraded version. Contact GE customer relations at 800-386-1215 with your full model and serial number and date of purchase. Use the M & S info from the sticker inside the fresh foods compartment.

Hi. I have a GE GSS22WGMC side by side and for a

you might have 2 problems. First I think you have either a defrost problem or a evaperator fan problem.

Look at the lower back wall of the freezer and if you see frost build up then you have a defrost problem.

also open the freezer door and press the door switch button that makes the light go off and listen for the fan. if you don't here the fan its a good chance that it could be bad.

I would wait on the ice maker issue until the cooling issue is resolved because it could be causing the ice maker problem.

If you dont here the fan then ckeck it in 60 min again and if you still dont here the fan it is mostlikley bad.

If you do have the frost then one of the following compontents could be bad: Defrost heater, Defrost limiter or the Defost Timer.

Freezer will not get cold

Hi..

You need to check this following:

  • Check the temperature setting
  • Make certain there is a three inch space outside of the refrigerator between the walls and the back and sides and at least a one inch gap above, to allow for air flow
  • Clean the condensor coils
  • Unplug the refrigerator, wait two hours and plug it in. If you hear it running, a problem is causing the compressor to overheat
  • Test the temperature control
  • Test the evaporator fan
  • Test the defrost timer
  • Test the compressor relay
  • Test the overload protector
  • Test the compressor motor

Good luck !!!
