Question about Dell 5110cn Laser Printer

Our Dell 5110cn is producing magenta horizontal bands roughly a half inch wide and about 3/4 inch apart from each other, with less distinct magenta coloration in between. Likely cause?

You should replace the magenta developer M6090.
There is a little bit of disassembly required, but it's not too bad.
Be careful if you are using 3rd party toner, because it's often the cause of this issue.

How do you print only in black & white to a dell 5110cn laser printer? the printer is currently out of magenta toner and will not print. do you need a magenta toner cartridge in order to print to this...


go into printer and faxes and and right click on your printer and and go to printer Prefereces you should see either print in black in white or gray scale

this should fix it for you

My 15 inch Dell LCD flat screen monitor has 4 blue (cyan) verticle pixel bands about half an inch wide on my screen. The monitor is about 3 or 4 years old. Can you help?


Sorry, but it's kaput. Broken. LCDs were pretty bad a few years ago. A new one will cost a lot less than that one did, and will work a lot longer.

are you getting any error messages from the printer's control panel? if not you can try inspecting the fuser drum for for gouges, grooves, or any other type of damage.

Photocopy has black band at end of the page


well ithink tou are using the ADF to copy something...you will have to clean the scanner glass(not the scan bed but when you lift the ADF cover you will see a scanner glass about inch wide)...it should resove your concern...

Dell 5110 printer has a cyan ghost next to the image. Also, about a 1 inch tall cyan horizontal band that repeats about 8 or 9 times down the page. bands are evenly spaced. Any idea what's wrong?

Sounds like you've got maybe a drum problem -- seen in two different symptoms, but you can try to fix it:
Go to the troubleshooting section and look for the links to these instructions:
-- Fixing your registration through the menu
-- Cleaning your drum

Registration is where the printer prints each color. It sounds like your cyan is off.

The bands may be from a dirty drum.

MP700 Magenta horizontal stripes


I have the same problem. Here's the advice I found somewhere on the internet:

If a jet (nozzle) in your cartridge has gone bad you will see horizontal bands and/or white streaks in your print. Print characteristics may appear incomplete and/or the filled in areas on may not show up.
1) Run some warm water over the print head. This can wash away any ink which might have dried in the cartridge print head. Dry the cartridge with a lint-free cloth before placing back into the printer.

2) Clean the contacts on the cartridge (the copper colored circuitry) and the contacts where the cartridge clips into the printer with water or alcohol. After cleaning, insert and remove the cartridge from the printer a few times to be sure you have a good connection between contacts on the cartridge and the printer.

3) If your print is smeared cleaning the wiper blade may fix the problem. Do this according to your printer manual instructions.

Hi there you have the magenta drum cleaning fault. You will have to replace the Magenta PCU (Photo Conductor Unit) 99.5% sure
