What does the code"F5E2" mean when trying to use the self-cleaning function?

This error means that the door lock didn't engage properly. This could be a wiring problem or a problem with the switch. First disconnect the range from power and check the wiring and switches from the control to the switch and back. If the door was locked when the F5E2 error was observed, then replace the door switch.

If the door was not locked, then check the door switch and the latch switch. Replace the bad switch.

The rear door switch is part W10107830, https://www.partstore.com/Part/Maytag/Maytag/MER7765WW/Whirlpool/Whirlpool/W10107830/New.aspx . A useful parts diagram is here: http://www.searspartsdirect.com/model-part/mer7775ww0/3048/0124111/W0908230/00003.html .

After replacing the bad part, reconnect the power to the range. Press and hold any key for a minute to clear the F5 code from the memory. Then press Cancel to clear the next code you see. Check if the range works.

I hope this helps.

If you receive error codes F5-E0, F5-E1 or F5-E2, the door and latch switch need checking and possible replacement.

The door switch is #12 in the diagram (click image for zoom)...

E1 F5 code after self clean cycle. its been 12 hours and wont unlock and still says code

Hi.

E1 and F5 (F5-E1) means that the Self clean latch will not lock. The problem is usually fixed replacing the door latch. If the door latch is working, check wiring to door latch. The control module causing the error is not very common but possible. If the latch and wiring are OK, check control board.

Here troubleshooting from manual:

1. If door latched:

1. Disconnect power from unit.
2. Check wires and connectors from control to door switch, then from door switch to control. If no damage to wires and all connectors okay, proceed to step C.
3. Replace door switch.
4. Re-apply power.
5. Press and hold any key down for 1 minute to clear F5 failure code from memory. F2 will appear. Press CANCEL and observe for 1 minute to ensure operation is correct.

2. If door not latched:

1. Disconnect power from unit.
2. Check wires and connectors from control to latch switch, then from latch switch to control. If no damage to wires and all connectors okay, proceed to step C.
3. Repeat steps A and B for door switch.

3. Measure door switch (door open = switch open small low voltage terminals). Replace switch if defective.
4. Measure latch switch (unlatch = switch open, CAUTION - oven light contacts are closed). Replace switch if defective.
5. If corrections are made in any step, reconnect power to control. Press and hold any key for 1 minute to clear R failure code from memory. F2 will appear. Press CANCEL and observe for 1 minute to ensure operation is correct.
6. If failure remains, disconnect power and replace control.

We ran the self clean program and now have E-1 F5 on the screen and the oven is locked .

The best way to find the meanings of the codes is to unplug it, pull the back off of the control panel, and look for the folded paper wiring diagram that the manufacturers place in there. It usually has the codes and diagnostic tests printed on it. Hope this helps.

F1-7 code

F7-E1 - Common Switch Wire Is Defective - This error occurs when common wire to latch switch and door switch is shorted.
Check all connections at control board and at the latch switch and door switch.
If connections are ok, then check individual switches as outlined for the F5 error code.

I justt recieve ur answer

It is not the temperature probe.

I have sent you a message afterward, I guess you did not receive it, that is because of a system problem.

I repeat here my additional message:

Sorry about my first diagnoisys, I looked into the service manual, E1 - F5 fault code means that you have aproblem with the door switch or latch assembly.
