SOURCE: Water on cooktop leaked into control panel

Sounds like you got water into the touchpad. If so there is no easy way to dry it out. It might dry itself out but you might up having to buy a new one.

SOURCE: Maytag electric range will not work

you have a house power promblem turn off the range at the breakers and start at where the cord connects to the range check it there then go back to the breakers all the eyes are on their circutes so it has to be at the power source feeding them

SOURCE: Start Button Failed on Whirlpool Electric Range Model GY396LXPQ02

It sounds like you have an oven problem rather than a start button problem. Is there an error code? If so list your model and error code on a search engine and you will find error codes. Or you can just list make model number and error codes and you can find a chart of Whirlpool error codes. I have done this with no problem. That should tell you the exact problem and things to try.

It may be neither issue you mentioned. It could be a bad element or a short.

Stopped during self clean--already replaced thermal fuse---it appears cooling fan was never connected, and it does not work once connected. All other functions appear to work, except power to the fan

Is the control panel completely dead?? If the cooling fan under the cooktop was not working, in most cases the main control board or control transformer if it is separate will get heat damaged and need replaced. That cooling fan is there to keep everything from over heating mainly during clean but should come on during normal baking if it gets too hot under the cooktop.

Feature not available

I had the same problem with a new kitchenaid range which they have agreed to replace after 1 month. Oven shut off a couple times while baking and feature not available displayed when trying to turn on oven again. I tried starting clean cycle and waiting a couple minutes for element to heat then cancelled clean cycle. Oven worked fine after this but this shouldnt be a solution, obviously something not wired right.

Door Locked on and can't remove after water spill

At this point it is very likely the control panel will need to be replaced. If you had disconnected the power and let it dry completely before trying to use it it may have been ok except for the cosmetic issues. You might still try unplugging it for a half hour or shut down the circuit breaker for that amount of time. I am thinking it won't help but it is worth a try. I don't know what to tell you about the cobweb looking damage.
