Question about Sony CMT-HP7 CD Shelf System

1 Answer

My Sony CMT-HP7 will not play any of my CDs. It says reading for a long time and then tells me that there is no CD and skips to the next CD... which it don't recognize.

Usually deleting the Upper and Lower Filters in the Registry resolves this issue. To do that follow this.
1. Run Regedit
2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
3. Delete Upper and Lower Filters on the right hand side pane.
4. Exit and restart.
Please comment if the information has been helpful. Thank you and regards.

My cd player does not play music in order, instead of 123...it skips to 5 than 8 etc.

There's a control under PLAY MODE that selects random play labeled "1 DISC SHUF". Normal play would be "ALBM". Read the manual.

Sony cmt-hp7 - broken

The unit will attempt an internal reset to start from a known position. If you are hearing mechanical noises, the unit is out of sequence and must be rebuilt. These are not the most straightforward units. If any portion of hte system fails the "startup" sequence, the entire unit will stop. Unfortunately, this may need to see a servicer.

Shelf cds is blocked SONY CMT-HP7

To get the cds to play, and 5 to eject, you can try taking off the sides of the consul and using compressed air. As for the shelf problem, I'm not really sure.
