This is an agitator - and yes it can be replaced. Chances are good it might just be loose.

Thanks!!

does the baffle just snap it or do I need to buy a repair kit

no it is not just a snap fitment. There are parts to disassemble. The middle cap of the nunator does snap off to reveal the mounting bolt.

Instructions for replacement will be included with the replacement part - or you can re-post here if you have troubles.

    THanks!

There is a gasket that fits around the back side of the tumbler. Sounds like it needs replacing. It's job is to keep clothes inside the tumbler.

How to change a dryer door switch for kenmore part number 8574875?

for a dryer door that is broken, if you need to use it before you can fix the connection to close it ...get a heavy duty stick on Velcro and cut about three inches or four if the room allows make sure you have it places where it closes together one on one side then the part that closes together tight on the door inside push hard so it is stuck to both parts of the dryer door and push hard it keeps it shut so the dryer can dry your clothes just the same as if it were latched with metal or magnet attachments ..my kenmore was troubleshot this was for years

Cooling light stays on during dry cycle. no heat is to dry clothes. I've switched the circut breaker numerous times and unplugged the unit many times also to "reset" . What's next..

Try a timed dry cycle instead of an automatic cycle. If that works, then you will need to clean off the moisture detection bars inside the dryer to get the auto cycle to work again. Look for two curved metal bars, about 3/16 inch wide and 4 inches long, about an inch apart, located just inside the front of the dryer, near the right side of the lint filter. (you'll have to stick your head in the dryer drum to see them) Often times, use of dryer sheets will result in a waxy coating forming on these bars, preventing the dryer from detecting the moisture in the clothes. The dryer sees no moisture, it goes into the cool down mode and then stops. Clean the bars off, and you should be back in the laundry business.

The cooling light is always on and the clothes take forever to dry!

Inside the dryer, near the lint filter, you will find two curved metal bars, about 1/4 inch wide each, about an inch apart and about 4 inches long. These sense the moisture in the clothes. When fabric softener sheets are used, a waxy substance will eventually coat the bars, so the dryer will not "see" that the clothes are still wet, and go right to a cool down. Clean them off, or use time dry only.

Clothes sometimes get under the agitator requiring the removal of agitator to release. Also, clothes get wrapped around agitator

Sounds like your agitator is not assembled correctly. It should not have things getting stuck constantly and it should definitely NOT be so easy to remove. Feel around the bottom edge of your agitator. If there is more than a 1/8 - 1/4 inch gap (roughly), it's not being snapped all the way down. Take a towel and fold it to where it is nice and fluffy. Lay it over the top of the cone part of your agitator. Get a hammer and hammer over the towel (as not to damage the agitator top). A rubber mallet could also be used. Tap firmly until you hear a click or until the gap between the agitator and wash tub reach 1/4 -1/8 of an inch. This should solve the problem.

Hope this info was helpful to you. Good Luck!

Frigidaire FDE336RES2 Dryer marking Clothes

Excessive lint on or near the heater coils will send smoldering lint onto the clothes. Use a flash light and go inside the drum to see the heating coils or lifting the top up who should be able to see the lint build-up on the coils. These need to be cleaned.

My daughter left clothes in the dryer and they werent dry now my dryer smells soured. how do i get rid of the smell?

Try tossing a tad of dry baking soda in with the clothes in may take a time or two but it would be better than tossing the dryer. If it smells like mildew also maybe try placing some charcoal inside withe door shut, charcoal draws mildew.

Electric clothes dryer will not turn on

Check in the upper corner of the dryer when you open it. There should be a slot where a little tab sticks out. This is the door switch. The tab should stick out about 3/4 of an inch. Is it broken? Dave www.washermd.com
