Well it is quite a difficult problem and it includes luck here.
You need to download Hiren's Boot CD. To be specific one of the last versions. Bur the image on a CD and boot from that CD. Go to partition tools and look for Bootsect and Boot ice or Ranish partition magic. Rewrite the MBR.
You can use the BootFix Utility.
Here is the complete list of the software that you will find on the image: http://www.hiren.info/pages/bootcd
Here is a link to download: http://soft.softoogle.com/ap/hiren-s-bootcd-download-6916.shtml . Just click download and the torrent file will be downloaded on your hard drive. You will need utorrent to continue the download. Here is the link: http://www.utorrent.com/downloads If you need further assistance or have further questions please leave a comment. Cheers

HP 255 How do I setup bootable disk ? I have tried esc and seled internal cd-dvd room but it doesn't work

On the HP System, you'll need to press the escape key as the system is starting up, and then hit F9 to get to Boot Device Options. Once there, you can set the boot order. After you've set the boot order, you'll also need to make sure that you have bootable files in the device that you've selected as the first boot device.

For example, if you've set the first boot device as CD-ROM drive, and the second is the Hard Disk Drive, then you'll have to make sure that there's a bootable CD/DVD in the drive when you start the system. If no bootable files are found on the first boot device, it'll automatically check the next boot device, which is the Hard disk and start booting from the Hard disk.

No boot sector on internal hard drive. No bootable

Hi there,

A boot sector is a sector of a hard disk that contains booting programs stored in the other part of the hard disk. You boot sector might have been deleted or corrupted and you can't logon until you repair or recover the boot sector. To do this you must have your OS cd. Boot from OS cd the follow below steps...

Windows Vista
1. Insert the installation disc.
2. Restart your computer
3. If prompted, press any key to start Windows from the installation disc.
4. Choose your language settings, and then click Next.
5. Click Repair your computer.
6. Select the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.

7.

On the System Recovery Options menu, click Startup Repair. Startup Repair might prompt you to make choices as it tries to fix the problem, and if necessary, it might restart your computer as it makes repairs.

Boot from you hard disk then you're done!

No boot sector on internal hardware

There are several causes for this. First make sure the Bios recognizes the Hard Drive as the Primary Hard Drive. Second, double check to be sure the drive is properly seated and connected . If these are both done and set properly your drive has either been erased or lost it's master boot record due to a Virus or Error. You can try using the Windows recovery system to recover the boot sector but I would simply use system recovery and format the drive and reload it to factory specification.

Well, my computer doesn't start up and the screen says "Media test failure, check cable", "No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key". I don't know what the cable is and...

The uProcessor can't find a bootable device and presumes your hard drive is no longer plugged in. Standard error message.
Check your BIOS for the hard drive listing. If it is listed there is no problem with the cables.
You will need your restore disc to boot from and repair your boot sector on the drive.

Won't turn on

No bootable device usually means that your hard drive has failed. It is either not connected properly to the computer or the drive needs to be replaced.

You need to run your installation/restore CD/DVD that came with the Dell. If you do not have them, you can order them from Dell for a nominal amount.

No boot sector on internal hard drive no bootable device-f2 for setup utility

If the bios or setup utility can't detect your hard drive then this can be a physical problem. I suggest that you reseat or tighten the cable connecting your hard drive to the motherboard. You need to open the hard drive panel then unplug and replug the hard drive cable.
