Question about Philips GOGEAR SA6045 MP3 Player
Hello all. Has anyone else had the same problem, my mp3 dropped out of my hand a week ago, and wont turn on since. The only way it turns on is when I have it plugged in to charge and to put music from my laptop onto it. Anyone have any ideas or is it a dead duck?
Thanks a mill!
Could be corrupt firmware.
Install and run the Philips Device Manager form the product CD.
Press and hold the [PLAY/PAUSE] button on the player whilst connecting to the PC.
Continue to hold until Device Manager say to release, then follow the on-screen prompts.
This will format the player, deleting all tracks, and re-load the firmware.
When the process has finished, switch on the player, and it should go through the initialisation process, then switch off.
Switch on again, and the player should show "Updating", then go into the main menu.
If the player still won't switch on, you have probably damaged the player, and there's not much else to try.
This problem is a known fault, so you may be able to change the player if it is still under warranty. Could just be coincidence when you dropped it.
If not under warranty, check out E-Bay. cheapest_electrical sell them very cheaply, with 12 months warranty.
