Trio mp3 portable player

I bought a new mp3 player, I formatted the player, but after formatting it I lost the icons and now I get an internal error. Why did this happen and how can I fix it?

I would remove the batteries for an hour, then format it using Windows Explorer--do a complete format--then remove it using the "safely eject hardware" icon (always!). Insert a battery, then plug it in and, hopefully, you'll be able to drop .mp3's right in and have them play.

Somebody else posted this, which might work for you as well:

    Here's how I fixed mine:

Turn on your MP3 player, it should be blinking. Plug it into your computer and wait for it to link up. Then use your computer to format it, THIS WILL ERASE EVERYTHING, so copy off your music before hand.
Then go to this web site and download and install the software:
    http://www.machspeed.com/tech/firmupdate...

Now when you start the software, if it doesn't find your MP3 player (it didn't find mine) it will say your firmware version is 0. Go to the DETAILS button. It will list four files (it will show five but two are the same file) for he update. Locate these files on your computer and copy them to you MP3 player.

Pull out your MP3 player, and it should now work. Hope this helps.

Keep getting format errors when trying to play a movie

Hi numisis2008
Sorry, but your player does not play movies...it only uses MP1, MP2, MP3, or WMA formats which is only for audio.
Go to the following webpage and download you Trio user guide.
Inside it will tell you all about your player and what formats to use.

This error occurs sometimes with the player. Please format your player via your computer so as to solve it.

IMPORTANT:
Formatting will erase all data on this player. Make sure you have backup all data on this player before execute the formatting.
  1. Connect your player to your computer.
  2. Double click My Computer at the desktop on your computer. You will find an icon for your player.
  3. Right click your mouse to select Format... in the popup menu.
    • If you can not find the Format... option after you right click the icon, please double click the icon, you will find another icon named Internal Storage, right click this icon to select Format.... You may get a warning message, click the OK button to start the formatting.
  4. Click the Start button. The formatting will auto start. You will get a message Format complete when the formatting is finished.
  5. Transfer again your backup data as you did to the player.
Please revert for any further issue.

Trio v430 is not recognizing my expansion memory card unless I remove and reinsert it each time I turn it on.

In this case I'd suggest that you format your player. Contents may be removed by using this function. So make sure to back up your contents. You can sync your player with Windows media payer version 10 or above.

Here is how to format it:

1. Connect the MP3 player to a working USB port. Locate the drive created by the unit, generally just called Removable Disk, with a letter in Parenthesis. Drive letters vary depending on your system configuration.
2. Right click on the removable drive icon which is your player's icon and select format from the drop down menu.

Your MP3 player will now start formating. Follow onscreen instructions and disconnect when format is completed.

Hope this helps.

Trio TCH843 MP3 Player: Have a new Mach Speed Trio TCH843 and wonder, whet...

I FOUND THE SOLUTION!
Hi. If you're like me you just bought one of Mach Speed's mp3/media players (I have the Trio/Eclipse Model G2, it looks like the Ipod Nano). I bought it at Big Lots for about $30. Everything works except i can't get video to play on it! Here's what i found after hours of trial and error:
Seems mine (hopefully this will work for yours) will ONLY play either FLV or RM files. If you have AVI or other kinds of video files you can use this great software to convert to FLV:
http://download.cnet.com/Koyote-Free-FLV-Converter/3000-2194_4-10832044.html?tag=mncol
It's free and it won't put a watermark on the video...which is great 'cause all the other free ones out there will. Anyway i hope this helps.
