IF picture looks 3d in some way it is convergence problem--see attached photo.

Depending on your skill parts cost will be under 25 dollars and I can tell you how to do the repair.

I will also attach photo of typical convergence part---look in your set to see what it uses.

If this told you something you did not know rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

I have a Sony projection TV KP-53HS10. From one

It is most likely the convergence board. Rear projection TVs use three lights to display the image. The image is aligned via the convergence circuit. After many many hours of use the capacitors and resistors on the board lose their tolerances. It is very expensive to repair if you take into account the price for a new TV and the quality of the image you will be getting if you do have it repaired.

I have a Sony KP-53HS10 TV for over 9 years. It still works great, good picture. But few weeks ago, it started making a "ssssssi" noise after turning on 4~5 minutes. The noise might come from a cooling fan...

There are no fan in this tv.This tv most common problems are the dead convergence board parts have problems, picture have colors lines R,B,G out of alignment, have colors shadows, and 3D pictures. The convergence board must have it 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all it resistors to be replaced to solved convergence problems. The problems u discribing,it a starting point, just the convergence problems, have not take it effect yet.Sooner or later ur tv will have the convergence problems.

Sony kp-53hs10 picture is cloudy and 3 colors at bottom of screen red blue and green

Look at attached photo--if it is what you have you have a convergence problem.

The KP-53HS10 uses two of the STK-392-020 convergence chips.

Both will need to be replaced and the set adjusted--parts cost on ebay is less than 20 dollars--repair consists of two things--getting at the parts and then replacing them--chips are soldered in so you need to be able to un solder them and solder the new ones in.

My TV (Sony KP-53HS10) TV recently experienced color problems. The problem seems to be that the 3 colors, blue green and red seem to be out of synchronization giving the picture a distorted or blured...

The problem might be the Convergence circuit went bad, generally there are 2 chips (part# starts with STK392 - something) that will need to be replaced, it involves de-soldering and soldering some tried doing themselves and made it worst. A local TV shop may charge from $300 to $475 depends on the labor service call and parts.

Good luck
